Trunk Carpet
I'm looking for carpet that matches the stuff in the trunk of an '07 e90. Someone recommended some from Crutchfield in this thread (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=trunk+carpet). Has anybody, who's willing to post pics, been able to match the color?
thanks

That link is not working for me.
But if it is the one I replied to a few months back, and your carpet is the same silver as my 2009 E90, and you need a comparison picture, here is one with a swatch of that Crutchfield carpet in my trunk. The grain is just slightly different, but it's very close. |

Thank you very much. Yes, it was your post I was referencing. I really appreciate you taking the time to provide the pictures. The carpet looks perfect.

well, if I couldn't find anything close enough then I was going to dye the entire trunk black. Which I didn't want to have to do. I'll dye everything gray/silver now, which will be much easier than totally changing colors.
Thanks for posting, VP. I hear you know everything there is to know about all this. Any dye recommendation to make it match?

My opinion is that the carpet from Crutchfield is not a perfect match, but is so close that I wouldn't consider it worth it to re-dye the whole trunk area. But that's just me. I've had several people comment that it looks just like the OEM carpet.
My opinion is also that no matter whether you are talking about carpet, upholstery, garment fabrics, linens, etc. you will be hard pressed to find two different lots from 2 different manufacturers to match 100%. Crutchfield is good at taking returns if you don't like it. |
