MHD quit working out of the blue?
Has anyone ever had their MHD setup quit working out of the blue? Last year I was using a 2 year old K+DCAN cable with my Asus Zen pad and everything was working fine. Then the car sat for 4 months over the winter, and around February I noticed the battery was weak, so I put a trickle charger on it... I started driving the car again in March and it fired right up... Then in April I tried using the MHD app again for the first time since November and it will not connect, says cannot find ECU and check the connection... So I bought a new cable off of Amazon, and the same thing happens, the light inside the cable turns on, then shuts off in less than a minute and it will not connect... So I bought the bi m m e r s o f t w a r e cable and still the same happens... So I don't know if it's the car, otg cable, or the tablet, but nothing has changed since November, I don't get it...

I've also tried every possible combination of plugging in the cables with or without the ignition on, with or about the engine running, and it doesn't matter… but, before it just worked no matter what I did, as far as plugging it in.

Back when I bought the OTG cable, it came as a two pack, and ive tried both with no luck... I'm going to try and find a better one, but I have a feeling it might be a tablet issue... The only thing I can think of that has changed since November, is that the tablet updated itself a month ago.

x2 that's what I would guess, but since it's still doing it with a diff OTG cable I wonder if it could be the app's cache settings or something?

Man I got so tired of otg cables crapping out on me that in my last search for one I stumbled across this and have had no problems since. Got it for $8 at Office Depot.

my Galaxy S7 edge came with an OTG adapter so that's what I've been using. It's similar to the one above but smaller. Works great.

I seem to have fixed the problem... I got it working by doing a system restore on the tablet, then I updated the Android software, then downloaded the MHD app again, then I restarted the tablet with it already connected to the car, and it started working right away. I even disconnected it and tried the other DCAN and OTG cables, and they all work, so now I have extras lol
