Nice. I bet that freaks out the tech when you service your car.

Better for those that has JB3, since you need to get into the ECU to change the chip?

Had to bring up a old thread since im going to be doing this..
Did everything fit into place with no modification? Looks like everything fit perfect. I just see a gap under the microfilters exposing the white ECU cover, is that a gap or how its suppose to be?

Then strip your interior... rear seat delete, get racing buckets, remove door cards, etc. Oh, what's that? You won't?

There's a cover you are supposed to buy that fills that gap. There's one for each side. The only modification I had to do was cut back some of the tape on the harness for the pollen sensor so it will reach the location of the sensor location on the M3 cowl.

I just did this swap today. It's pretty awesome.
Pro tip: You don't need to buy the $20 seal, you can just re-use the stock one. It does seem to seal pretty well from stuff getting in from the cowl. |

-Access to both DCI filters and intake tubes without removal of cowl -Access to an OCC if you have one -Ability to remove engine cover without removing cowl -Ability to access white ECU box in 1/2 the time -Ability to clean rear of engine without removing cowl -You can hear the turbos more clearly -You shed a few lbs For under $100, it's a no-brainer for anyone who mods and likes easier access to various components in the engine bay. I guess it's not for everyone. |
