Ordered a turbo-tuner
I’ve been following the PROcede and I think it’s probably the best option for drag racers such as me, but I’ve decided to give the turbo-tuner a shot. I like the 10 second install, low price, and ability to get it right away. If I see a 30+rwhp/40+rwtq gain (here on 91 octane) with little to no knock retard, I'll be a very happy camper.
I’ll do a few passes at the local tracks (LACR, Irwindale 1/8th mile), and then focus my attention to getting exhaust cutouts on the car and improving traction. I don’t think drag radials are going to get it done, so a set of ET Streets might be in order. |

please, keep this thread posted with updates of your car. I'm looking into this mod but wanted to feel some opinions before I jump on the procede.

when you get your turbo timer, id like to meet up with you and see/feel the difference it makes. I'm also in the market for it or proceed and i dont like waiting... thats one reason why i like eurobahn. |

Why ask a question you already know?

An old saying that holds true with modification is your mileage may vary. I'm a little skeptical of the advertised numbers, but if I hit a 30rwhp gain I will be very happy. I'll probably go do a before and after dyno just for fun, since its so easy to take on and off.

Not following you, but afaik the PROcede advances timing under low load and retards it under high load. The turbo tuner does nothing under low load but tricks the car in to thinking its hotter out under high load to reduce timing.

It's called a rhetorical question used to make emphysis or support an argument. Since he has a TT why would he want to leave mis-information about its power gains in this thread? That is a better question (Rhetorical once again by the way ).

I dont have a turbo tuner, but my car is in the shop right now waiting for a fuel pump, so I put it off... if anyone wants to buy one I can install it for ya and let you test drive the tuner on your own car! its just that easy to install / uninstall...

Yep you've got it right. Without getting too technical, in boost the timing is retarded because high pressure air/fuel mixture burns faster than lower pressure mixtures. The timing is retarded so the mixture will start burning later and create less pressure before the piston reaches top dead center. If the timing isn't retarded then too much pressure will build before the piston reaches TDC..pressure that the piston then has to work against aka knock!
