330i-Possible Turbo Or Supercharger??
Ok well ive been wondering this for a long time. And im pretty sure there is a topic already on this, or subforums, but is there any turbo or supercharger that you can put on the 330i? If so what are they? Are they actually worth it and are there any users here who have done it??? Thanks appreciate any info.
Oh and what would be better between the two???

If you're pretty sure, then why didn't you search?
There are quite a few threads on this exact same topic.

I bet our cars can take a supercharger, only problem is tuning our cars. Nobody can do is sucessfully. Back in the day, Horsepowerfreaks tried turboing a 330i, but to no avail.

and despite me loving dennis's car... he hasnt produced any info on how much boost hes running and what hes getting from that custom work. HPF made a turbo kit for the 330 but its not very economic and they couldn't tweak the ecu... so if anything i think its just for show and isnt functional.

Yes, there is a way. It will cost around 10-15k. You take your car and sell it and then buy a 335. There is absolutely no logical reason to try to do forced induction on car that the factory has such a good solution. I would avoid that conversion like the plage.

theres rumors and all this crap but i dont think any company is willing to spend the time and effort on figuring out our ecu system. Our biggest hope relies on VF engineering to figure out the supercharger kit for the 5 series because its really similar to our car but again supercharger kit will cost around 5-7k + install and HPF has a firm price of 15k for theres.

I would look what's involved labor and especially price wise to turbo or SC an N52. Price that out versus a 335 with a tune and I bet the cheaper solution would be the 335. I turbo'd my first VW which was an MKIV VR6 and I regret ever doing it. Sure when it was running good it was awesome to drive, but it was at my friend's shop more than it was on the road. I spent a lot of money and a lot of time to try and do it right, but it was still a PITA! Just my $.02 Good luck! |

well figure $5k for the S/C but in terms of tuning it... why cant we just use the speed innovations ECU that I've seen on JleviSW?
I saw it there like 2 weeks ago but now its not anymore... I'll email them and see what they've got. |

my guess is that it would also work on a 328 e90... same engine from what i understand. ECU tuning is probably the difference between them but when I hear back from SpeedInnovations HOPEFULLY they will tell me some good news that their software would be able to tune for the SC kit.
stay tuned... (no pun intended) |
