I just successfully installed the newest Mr12volt unit w/ OEM microphone support into my 2011 328i CIC, now what? I do wish I had a touchscreen support display but I can deal w/o it.

I think what’s next is I need to upgrade my base audio system; and tweeters and an amp and new underseats subwoofers I’m thinking I should just go to a car audioshop and have them upgrade and install everything for a fee, are there any speaker/tweeters, amp and subwoofer recommendations?

I also know the base model only come with 4 speakers can I add additional speaker to the car?

Most stereo shops don't know how to do a BMW stereo system.
Be sure to read the base system upgrade guide at the bottom of the page.
More speakers is a mistake better speakers and amp is not.

How is the audio quality? I had installed a bimmertech mmi prime in my e90 w/ cic and base audio, and the audio quality was horrible since it uses the aux.

Sounds great, no complaints.

Some of this info is getting dated, considering Technic PNP doesn’t the sell the more extensive wiring kit anymore.

Last e9x was made about 10 years ago .
Interest in this stuff is waning.
The wiring doesn't change on a car that is no longer in
production.

I really want this unit, but I hate how the home button on it is a MR12Volt advertisement instead of it simply saying "BMW" if I want to go back to iDrive. Is there a way to change that?

Did you have to change any software settings to get the oem mic splitter to work? Nobody can hear me on phone calls / voice assist and it seems like I can barely hear them.

SOLVED: Just didn't push the plug all the way into the OEM mic. Working perfectly now!

In CCC, the big button below the idrive knob switches you back and forth from idrive to mr12…. The icon you speak of is to get to the Mr12 interface from CarPlay, so you can access the mr12 settings, or other features offered by the mr12 (BT audio streaming, USB streaming, etc).
