I'm XI. Not looking forward to all that's involved (subframe drop, etc), but there are modest gains with the inlets and figured I would do it all at once. Fortunately I will have a lift that I can work on...

I'm XI also. What were you referring to that was a pretty big hassle? The downpipe?

All I have is ramps/jacks/stands, no lift.

Just did my xi downpipes on jackstands last weekend. They are as annoying as everyone says but not impossible by any means, 5 hours start to finish. Biggest annoyance was the factory bracket that wouldnt let it loose and the vband for the front down pipe on mine. Other than that pretty smooth and dropping the subframe wasn't bad at all. Definitely well worth the performance and sound gain!

Can anyone recommend a good place for paint in/around Pittsburgh? I just picked up the m-sport conversion for my e90 and need to get it painted BSM.

Thanks fellas!

I am getting the front of my car repainted as its been sandblasted from all the highway miles I've put on it. I'm going to a little place right off 88 and 51, we will see how it turns out.

What are you doing with your front oem bumper?

Hey Yinz Guys! Any recommendations for a good indie mechanic around the 'Burgh? I live north of the city- Wexford area. Or anyone local DIY'd their water pump/thermostat and willing to share some advice?

I had mine done off of Route 8 just north of Route 228. Good guy and if you don't need a receipt and pay cash he'll give you a good deal. PM me for his info.

Hey, if you're up in wexford there is a shop just a little bit north in Zelienople. The guy works on all sorts of imports (a lot of VW/Porsche/Audi/BMW). Only problem is he is typically pretty busy. Does really good work though.

If my wife wasn't expecting in the next couple weeks I would say bring it to the South Hills and I could swap it out for you. I would recommend doing the thermostat as well. You'll also need the three fasteners as they're aluminum and should be replaced when you perform this service. I would only buy OEM parts. Reach out to my guy Armando whom works out of BMW of Manhattan, cheaper that anyone on the interwebs.

There is a place called c&g performance in warrendale that I haven't had work done at yet but almost had them install my downpipes. Seem like a reputable group of guys though.

Thanks for all the recommendations!
I went ahead and ordered the OEM Water Pump and Thermostat kit from Tischer. Parts should get here tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

FS: OEM 270m e9x Winter Wheels & Tires

If anyone is interested or in need...

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1321301

Quote:
I have a set of OEM 270m e9x winter wheels & tires that came off of my 2013 e92 M3. Wheels are in good condition, no curb rash only minor stuff from normal use. TPMS sensors are installed and included. Wheels were used lightly for 3 winters (have an X1 I usually drive in the winter) and 2 tires were replaced just before last winter. Tires are Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4's. Two have 7-8/32 and the other two have 8-9/32 of tread left. Will ship anywhere in the U.S. but buyer is responsible for shipping costs. This setup currently costs $3k new from the dealer.

Would also be willing to work out a trade deal for e9x ZCP style 359 wheels or other winter wheel/tire options that fit my 2016 F80 Competition Package (without carbon ceramic brake option).

How'd that place work out for you? I'm needing to get my hood and bumper sprayed due to rock chips too

Lets just say, it's not worth it and you get what you pay for. Lesson learned but I couldn't justify spending $2,000 to repaint my hood and bumper.

Once again, I do not recommend Premier Auto Body, quality of work is very poor.

DRL Coding

Anyone in the 'Burgh willing to help me out with some coding?

I got the Lux Angels Eyes for Christmas and finally installed them today. They look awesome! But, I really want them setup as the DRLs for my '08 E90, which can apparently be done via coding. I downloaded BMW Coding Tool, NCS Expert, NCS Dummy, etc, but can't seem to figure it out.

I'd be more than happy to buy you a beer for the trouble...

I can code your drl's with the Carly app. Do you have a tune in the car and if so is it easily disabled. Shoot me a pm. I work graveyard and Tuesday evenings work best for me.

Can't you just do this via the dash? That's how I did mine.

What's wrong with how they're setup in the picture above? Or are you talking about coding out the sidemarker?

I can turn DRLs on and off via the dash, but my DRLs include the inner headlight. I want just the halos as DRL.

The picture above is with the parking lights turned on, which had to be done manually each time. I'd like it to be automatic and without the side marker.

Hello! I really hope this gets noticed! (i'm not a bot btw, just really REALLY like this whole app)

DOWNLOAD RoadStr APP!!

It helps organize car meets and has a map on it that allows you to see other drivers in the area (if driving mode is on).

I have this app and it's really good. I'm looking to get a 2009 328i xDrive, but i have a red 2012 Acura TSX Special Edition with straight back exhaust system (no cat/resonator). I hope that I can help anyone set up RoadStr stuff. Find me on the app (or instagram) @the.Red_Panda

From Bethel Park and looking forward to just getting to car meets. Hope i get some notes or messages or something. Love this idea.
