How dodgy is this?

How dodgy is this thing?

M Sport? Why the SE seats then?....Where's the black headlining?

Looks nice from the outside but I would not go near it with a bargepole!!

Yes they are standard on non xenon Lci cars, nothing dodgy about them though.

Mark my words, as E9x cars become more "accessible", the more of this we will see.

So what exactly is it?

A SE with M sport kit added from a newer car?

Jeez, the guy's spent a lot of time and money upgrading his car, like many do on here....

And he clearly states:_

"36,457 miles, BLACK AND WHITE FULL 2011 330D LCI UPGRADE WITH SOFT GRAY HEATED NAPPA LEATHER, CUSTOM PAINT WORK, FRONT AND REAR PARKING SENSERS BLUETOOTH 6CD AUTOCHANGER AUX PORT START AND STOP PUSH BUTTON HEATED SEATS, 19'' BLACK M-SPORT ALLOYS WITH 4X NEW RUN FLATS MOT AND TAX JAN 2012 THIS CAR IS A REAL HEAD TURNER, DRIVES FANTASTIC,GARRANTED MILEAGE FIRST TO SEE WILL BUY, P/X POSS, ANY INSPECTION WELCOME CALL FOR MORE INFO. £13,495."

Whether you like the 'upgrade' or class it as 'full' is personal taste, not 'dodgy'...

It IS dodgy.

He says it is a 320d M Sport: so why does it not have the Anthracite headlining that is standard on an M-Sport? Why does it have SE seats?

You have to question the provenance of this miscellaneous bag of parts......probably been in a smash and been repaired using a jumble of bits - so what's the shell and chassis like under all that new paint?

Oh come on! There's some really pretentious snobby pricks on here who need to just get over themselves. 3er BMW diesels are like dog turds, there's one on every corner FFS!

It states:-

"2006 BMW 3 SERIES 320d M Sport 4dr Diesel Saloon"

The biggest gripe you can have with this is it didn't start out as an M Sport and there's MANY car on here that didn't but have kits fitted etc, and the 330d bit in the blurb. That could be an easy typo to make.

Seriously, it' a modded BMW.
What do guys say every frickin' day a modded BMW is posted on here.
"Wow, that's awesome"
"Nice car dude.."

Just for some black grills.....

Wht do you think, for instance, of MEGA's ride.....??

Nice work Westy. It's not a dodgy car, its just a shit ad. It's basically a 320se with some M-Sport bits. Big deal.

If its SE money then treat it like any other SE and benefit from the better than M-Sport ride lol.

Maybe so. But people here don't go around trying to palm off SEs as M-Sports which that guys advert clearly is.

Exactly.

When you see an E46 (or older) BMW car these days, which ones still look good?

The ones with M6 replica wheels etc or the ones that look pretty much untouched?

I guess it's caveat emptor - "Let the buyer beware". If it's an M Sport or SE will be down to what is on BMW computer and the log book in the end. Certainly looks M Sport apart from the seats and roof lining.

This could be explained by the 'nappa leather' - correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't order sport seats with nappa leather? Could it be that this was an 'individual' order when new and the roof lining could also be changed? Of course, if this is the case and the seller knows what he has, it's another selling point. However, as the ad presents itself, it generates more questions than it answers. Who on the forum can be arsed to call up and enquire about the car - that may present some answers - until then it's all guess work.

The car must of started life as a M-Sport as when you list a car on autotrader you cant edit the title, you just type in the registration and it comes up with the car details registered on the log book.

I would expect a FULL 2011 330D LCI UPGRADE to include a three litre engine.

Modifed well, the interior however now look so out of place and it would take a lot of time and money to bring that to m sport spec, far easier than replacing a bumper.
