Great to know thread, moral of the story don't place shit on your dash.
Na, in all honestly this is great and good to know. Will definitely come back to this again if my GF decides to throw her mascara make up or iPhone up there. |

It started with a hairline scratch, I used Novus 2 on the area and it removed the anti-glare along with the scratches [which I'm fine with].
I am yet to use Novus 2 on the remaining area [I am not considering detaching the LCD and working with it]. I do find it hard to get a uniform pattern especially around the corners I have some questions for those of you who've done this 1. How do I use Novus 3? 2 uses circular motion. How about 3? Just 90degrees from the scratch? I tried 3 on a CD and wow it really created some fine scratches. I know it would be different on an LCD but I am worried about Novus 3 so any past experiences/anecdotes would be helpful. Quote:
I am considering purchasing the Lexerd Anti-glare protector. Thank you all for this massively helpful post! |

I have two little pinhole areas of damage on my anti glare display, but to be honest, I don't think I'm willing to sacrifice the whole surface area of the idrive system just for a couple of little areas of damage both about the equivalent of a pinhead

Another nod to the Lexerd anti-glare screen. What the Novus 1, 2, and 3 couldn't completely fix, the Lexerd screen made completely disappear. Easy to install as well.

Don't be afraid boys. I just used the Novus per TomTomTuning's advice and it took about an hour tops. I had to start with #3 and work my way down to #1.....Easy. Result - Beautiful display again!

Great tutorial, ordering the Norvus product as we speak.
Is taking out the screen necessary?

hate to bring this back from the dead, but has anyone actually replaced their CIC screen with the ebay replacement screen?

Great thread guys! Somehow scratched the screen on my fiance's E70. I'm going to buy the Novus and try my best!

My anti-glare film was shot from previous owner using random cleaning supplies, I picked up some Meguiar's PlastX which is stocked everywhere and was able to polish off the anti glare residue and now have a nice semi gloss screen. Glare has not been an issue!

I just did my 2010 E93 CIC screen with the Novus application. I bought the car used and I thought a cat scratched mine it was so bad. Thank goodness I found these posts because you could spend hundreds replacing instead of fixing the screen. I also had to use the #3 first after starting with the #2 even though it did start to work but a before I knew it the scratches all disappeared. After doing final cleaning w #1 I applied the Lexard anti-glare screen w amazing look like new results...Thank you Thank You for these posts...Amazing!!

I had some spots on the idrive screen, tried to clean it using a microfibre cloth and nothing was shifting it - thats when I realised it was spots were something (no idea what) had dissolved the anti glare. Kept catching my eye so I polished the whole lot off with a microfibre cloth and scratchx. Is slightly shinier (as you would expect) but it doesnt seem to have done much to the usability in bright sunlight (not that common in Scotland anyway ) I can always put an anti glare screen protector on later if required.
TL: DR Scratches and spots where the coating have come off can be buffed out with scratchx - screen looks perfect again albeit without anti glare.

Hey guys.
Is there any chance to change small monitor into bigger one (8,8inch) or you do need to do some programing with it as the bigger monitor comes with higher resolution I guess. I'm talking about e90. Would be grateful for any information. |

The 8.8inch screen is for the Professional Navigation system and the Smaller ~6inch screen is for the Business Navigation. Two completely different systems. |

Hi guys!
I have a big problem, please if you have inform me about the solution for this, I am so sad now. Somehow i broke the PLEXI SCREEN in my vehicle. My local bmw store said that I have to buy a brand new monitor. BUT my lcd screen is 100% functional, only the plexiglass broke in front of the screen. Thank you |

Mine is CIC :/ By the way, I think the solution will be that I buy a used one, and I will put my screen to the used one, in that way I don't have to code the used to work with my CIC head unit.
