Tell me about it! I'm buying the first set of nice wheels I have had for this car and it's stressful as hell... I wish I had $5k to drop on HRE monoblocks in my preferred finish and call it a day... Looks like I'm settling for BBS RGRs in the gunmetal color even though I'd much prefer silver. They don't make silver in the rear size I want (18x9.5 et33).

Fender rolling in Lansing Michigan

Rizzo,

I am going through just what you are with deciding on wheels. Bought my 328I in October with OEM 197 wheels and winter tires. I want to move up to 19's but I have an issue with my driverside rear fender. I had bought 15MM wheel spacers and the drivers side rubbed. Where did you find someone in the Lansing area to roll your fenders. I can not find anyone. Can you give me a name and number.

Thanks

John

I will be trying to get a 19x10 with a 275/30/19 tire. With fenders rolled and no drop I should be fine. I'm trying to find a set of 19x8.5 and 19x10 in gun medal to kinda match my car so I don't have to paint the window trim.

I love the f14 super concave but they aren't cheap. Looking at 2600 or more with wheels and tires and TPMS sensors. Man that's a lot. I find one I like and it hits the pocket book hard.

I feel you man. I'm looking at the 19" Linea Corse Lemans in hyper black but I'm trying to figure out what the offset and spaces I need to not have them rub. Also looking at what size tires and brand and on top of that I'm in Canada and I have to find a vendor here or drive to the states to get them. I feel I'll overpay if I get them here in Canada.

Your feeling is correct. You will.

I'm making a day trip in 2 weeks to pick up mine already waiting for me there. Depending on the brand, I routinely save in the neighbourhood of 50% on rubber (4th set so far) and 20% on the wheels (Canadian online shop) - probably more if I paid retail at a local shop.

The only brand (from Tirerack - good prices and service) I find which you DON'T get cheaper by jumping over the pond is is Michelin for some reason.

Yeah for some reason Michelin was actually cheaper to get it here then over the border for me last time. I picked up a set of Michelin Defenders for my mom's highlander for around $730 after a $70 rebate.

Just a small question for you. Did your original wheels come with rubber or metal stems? Mine came with rubber stems, which means I didn't need to buy TPMS (build date: 10/2006), saving me lots of dough. You should check into that.

In the meantime, I know you have your heart set on 19's because everyone thinks that 18's don't fill the wheel well. Here is my ride on 18's...Style 269 Performance reps from Sonic Tuning, which I use as my winter setup. They were running a sale and they are:

8.0x18 et 32 Front
9.0x18 et 30 Rear

My summers are OEM M3 Style 219M wheels in gunmetal, which I think look good on your green, and they are:

8.5x18 et 29 Front
9.5x18 et 23 Rear

I am on sport suspension, so not lowered.

They certainly fill out the rear and are pretty flush and concave.

I choose to run 18's because of the road conditions around here and it is my DD, too. Good luck with your decision and post pics soon!

Those do look nice, but mine have TPMS sensors so its not really bad, ill have to get the sensors for $200. I'll check into those because the 19s in Michigan roads will suck

I am having the same problem, since I got my car a year ago, I have been looking for wheels.
I have to get new wheels before spring actually comes.
My car is also deep green metallic, I am glad to find another one with the same color
I think gunmetal or hyper black will look great on our car, I have even considered bronze or gold, mainly because a set of gold bbs on an e36 m3 looks amazing

Some of my choices I am thinking about are:
Linea Corse LC818
AG M359
Niche targa M130
BBS LM reps
but I am still open for any other suggestions

There are just too many rim choices out there
still couldn't make up my mind yet, $1500 ready but don't know what should I get, damn first world problem lol

I looked at a lot of those but am going to do silver because it should look great. If u do black make sure you black out the window trim and the front grill to match. I might keep both silver so the silver rims should flow. The bbs reps are nice and so is AG, I'd rock the m359 if I could but really like the f14.

My window trim came in matte black from the factory, and I have blacked out my grills already. Thanks for the advice anyway.
I think black wheels are more aggressive, thus I'm thinking about getting gloss black or hyper black, but not matte black to make the wheels get more attention.
The super deep concave rears look great, but I don't like the fact that the front looks a lot less concave then the rear ones. If I can get a set with same concave front and rear then I would be all over them lol

should be a nice fit right without any problems
Haha, I'm getting the Foregestar F14s, doing the 18s though. I like the weight savings. I want those to be my Spring/Summer wheels and eventually I want to get a set of the 19 313-style wheels for winter. Do post pics! I'm planning on getting my set in Gunmetal if I can get the paintjob I want for my car.

Kee - lol yes but they are semi concave. I'd rock the m359 tbh. Get a 19x9 with a 235/35/19 tire. It will be a little stretched but fit perfect.

Eagle - yep just got to wait a little to pull the trigger here. Should be soon and I am getting my wonders and fenders rolled here within the month

Ack! Looks like I might be in a dilemma now! I can't get the paint job I want since it'll be beyond my budget for parts installation including paint. So I will have to live with Space Gray Metallic forever and ever. All the bodyshop guys telling me it's a sick color, guess it's very German and austere LOL. Anyways, I wanted gunmetal for my car if could paint it Monte Carlo Blue, now I don't know what color I want for my Forgestar F14s! Brushed Titanium looks nice on Space Gray, but I'm not sure LOL!

Everybody does black and silver though. Definitely liking the Titanium finish, I'm going to ask if they do a polished finish. Just gotta get the rest of the work done on my car before I get my wheels.

Back is good, front could be 9" and +25 which would improve the concave.

oem style M359 m3 competition wheels are a nice fit on a non M. cost more than your budg even used though.

I was thinking about getting the F14. Those are some nice wheels. Just wondering what it would look like on SG E90.
