Drivers side fog light won’t work

So a few days ago i got the fog light malfunction error and figured it was just a burned bulb.. got me some LEDs to replace both of them but the drivers side still won’t turn on.. I checked for blown fuses but didn’t see any and if it was a fuse neither of them would work.. so at this point I’m thinking it may be a short somewhere.. any advise on how to troubleshoot this?

I won't pretend to be handy with automotive electronics but did the bulbs come with resistors?

No resistors, just regular bulbs.

I am bad with automotive electronics but as I understand things, you're going to need resistors in line somewhere since LEDs draw so much less power than regular bulbs. Can you put the old bulbs back in but switched around so that the good one is on the driver's side? You might be able to rule out an issue with the wiring on that side.

Both of the old (halogens) look to be good so it was never an issue about them being burned but I’ll swap them to see what happens. Thanks again.

Try posting in e90 lighting section of forum, if not already done so. Doubt question is specific to the d and you may have a better chance of finding a solution

You need to hook up a diagnostic scanner. The FRM (Foot Room Module) controls all lights electronically. If it has detected a short, it will disable that output until a "reset short" command is send via a diagnostic tool.
