I believe the strike is here in Vancouver... see http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33321.

My CA also confirmed the strike is local (I'm awaiting my E90 335i).

He also said that cars in Halifax destined for Vancouver will not be put on a train until the backlog at the auto terminal is cleared.

There may be a slim chance BMW Canada 'might' consider alternatives to getting the cars delivered... ship the cars by rail from Halifax to Alberta and then use truck transport to get them to BC.

But, I don't know how likely that will happen.

Hi Tirana,

Well I guess I'm in some action movie (Indiana Jones), I made it just before that big stone door locked me in

My CA just left me a message & the car was loaded on train yesterday (10/24) and also gave me the train car # & ETA to CN Rail autoport.

Fhhheeww...

My ETA is Oct. 28 at the CN AutoYard.

If you are in T.O., then it's about 8-9 days. So if your car left 10/24 (Tuesday) -> Transit time is 9 days, so should be @ T.O. Autoyard on 11/02 (Thursday).

Here is a little tool, it helps you calculate transit times; your Origin is "Darthmouth, Nova Scotia" - Destination is "Toronto, Ontario" (better if you know which yard).
https://ecprod.cn.ca/ebusiness/Trans...wtc/index.html

Another way to correlate this with your actual; call your CA to see if he's got it "On train" in the computer.

Good Luck

According to my CA, cars bound for Vancouver aren't being placed on trains until the strike is over... there's no one to offload them (or possibly the terminal is filled to capacity).

My CA also mentioned there was an offer made to end the strike last Friday. But it was rejected. Talks are suppose to continue this week. I don't know where he's getting this info... can't find anything about the strike in the media.

BTW wc19, my e90 was also dropped off in Halifax on 10/10... shipmates on the Boheme.

Hello WC19,

Since you started the thread, you can change the title; may I recommend:

Shipment to Vancouver from Halifax, Canada.

or

Shipment to Canadian West Coast from Halifax.

P.S.: If your car was discharged on the 10/10, it should have been on train by now ... so that sucks a bit. I could imagine what the feeling of not knowing when must be like for you guys; I'm starting to have an idea of when & I'm going banana's.

Hello WC19,

Well congrats on the post title change!

Any news on your car?

On my side, my CA still has if for arrival @ the CN Autoyard for Oct. 28th. So most likely it will be @ the dealer Monday or Tuesday Oct. 31st, 2006. He also said he would get the one of the directors to call to make sure the car gets to the dealer quickly.

So here's hopping that my next weekend (starting Nov. 3rd )will be in good company

Hello Tirana & WC19,

Actually my car should have arrived at CN Autoyard on the 28th, but the dealer is closed Saturday and sunday. Although they sometimes bring the cars to the dealer lot on the weekend; I have resisted the temptation to go take a look.

So, I've kept busy to keep it off my mind ... but I should be getting the call that's it's been finally delivered to the dealer tomorrow or tuesday Oct. 31st.

It's about 48hrs to prep the car; + They have to install the Alarm & 3M Protection to the front (Hood, fenders & bumper). The way I see it right now, I'll probably get my smokin' hot ride THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2006.

I'm also having one hell of a hard time to get winter wheel package; The dealer's price for the Wheels Style 158 & Style 159*(my preference) ridiculous. Then, I can't seem to like the ones from TireRack ... Sucks

Right now, I'm preparing my iPod playlist & converting my files to a higher quality format for the Logic7 ; this should enhance my Ultimate Driving Experience.
