What color is this? + Need thoughts of this...

Hey guys, new here so im not sure if this in the right section.

Iv been in the market for a car the past couple of weeks. I ran into this on autotrader. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...36802432&Log=0 It says the color is "deep sea blue", this is not true as it is not a color that BMW offers (at least I don't think) so I wondering if you guys could help me figure out what color blue it is. Lastly, I have not owned a BMW before (nor a used car for that matter). So, I was wondering what your thoughts and opinion(s) are on this particular CPO / opinions on CPO BMWs in general. What are somethings I should know before I even proceed into looking further into this car/ CPO BMWs?

Thats odd. I guess that answers my question about the color. Why is there no thread for "Deep sea blue" in the photos section? Did it replace monaco blue for the 2011s? (it looks almost exactly the same, hence why I questioned the labeling from beginning ).

You can find out from the last 7 digits of the VIN WBAKF5C50BE587086 from BMW-NA or a dealership..

Looks a lot like my Monaco Blue but it's impossible to tell from pics.

The 328i is the base engine option and it's a volume model, so it's quite reliable and well designed, and has fewer parts that can fail, than a 335i. You do need to however stay on top of the maintenance to get a reliable driving experience. Do all the prescribed maintenance and then some (you can get all the info by browsing the forum). Nothing expensive, especially if you are handy with a wrench. The AWD is a good feature to have but it's added weight and complexity.

Be sure to get both Carfax and Experian, and have the seller provide you a copy of the BMW service record which will show you all the options on the car, and all the work ever done on it.

I don't know that CPO adds any tangible value to the car for the additional price you pay for it over a regular used car in the same condition, but it does extend the warranty out a couple years and more miles, and gives you more peace of mind. It's usually not on my shopping list, but YMMV.

Other than that, it's a great car to own and drive, and welcome to the club!

Deep Sea Blue, Monaco Blue and LeMans Blue were the blues for LCI E92.. This is Deep Sea Blue. Not available for Pre-LCI E92 or E90 only the LCI E9Xs.

Care to elaborate? I know its no 335 in terms of performance. Also, AWD is a must as it would be my dd and I live in New England.

Should I be looking else where for a practical everyday coupe thats fun to drive below $30k?

No need to get riled up, I think it was a reference to the Autotragic tranny. Just a running joke around here.. That, and a lot of folks like their RWD over AWD, RWD lends itself to more fun..

Personally I tend to agree, but then again, both are subjective elements, everyone has different needs/tastes. I'm sure no offense was meant.

I didn't take it offensively . I wish I could get it in stick but I live in a heavily congested area . Also, my mother will be using it from time to time so I gotta look out for her .
