Has anyone installed a CB radio?
If you have installed a CB radio, where did you mount it? Also what antenna did you get? I dont want to look like some redneck with a huge Whip on my trunk. Im going to try to find the smallest whip possible that will still work. I used to have a Galaxy DX 919 and Little Will antenna but those are far to large for the 335i. Incase you are wondering im getting this to avoid tickets, along with many other devices inspired by Alex Roy.
Also, if you could post pictures please! I have never seen one installed on a 335i, and nothing comes back when i search. Scanner information would be helpful too! |

I also have a big mustache, a cowboy hat, a screaming chicken on my hood, and Sally Field in my passenger seat (actually no why would anyone do that?) |

Agreed...I'm a ham and I won't even deface my ride by putting an antenna on it!
If you have to, look into thru glass mount antennas and remote head radios. The thru glass has sticky metalic side on each piece- there is 2 pieces. One inside and one outside on the rear (or front) window. Your on your own for where your gonna find that huge screamin chicken vinyl tho cause pontiac closed its doors Last edited by scrufy; 08-09-2010 at 10:57 PM.. |

I didn't realize you could get onto a police channel on a cb radio. Plus most people usually seem pretty content with detectors and jammers.

Interior pic of CB mounted please.
I have a radar detector and laser jammer. Never had a CB or a mobile scanner. I do enjoy listening to the local police channels from home some times. Never heard of using a scanner for speed traps. They usually do not announce their location while conducting a speed trap. |

I never said you could. Also, i dont care what other people "seem to be content with." I asked because this is what I want to do. Thanks for your useful information though.

I would mount the radio in the trunk, then run a remote to the dash or ashtray location. audio into the aux jack under the arm rest. I wonder of the steering wheel kits people use for parrots can be adapted. It sounds like a parrot installtion in method and functionality.
I don't know jack about CB radio's but If I were to do this I'd solicit the advice from a CB enthusiast forum. Good luck (east bound and down |
