Turbos on a 328

Does anyone know if theres some sort of turbo kit for the 328 to get 300hp or over? Can you put the turbos from the 335 on the 328 without MAJOR work?

There is a kit, it's called BUYING A 335! Why would you attempt to turbo a 328 when you can just get a 335. From a price and reliablility standpoint, you couldn't get anywhere near BMW if you did the turbo yourself.

It would be a mistake to turbo your car. It will cost a ton of money and likely be unreliable. You don't want to be the first guy to try out the new turbo kit ya know?

Obviously your great deal on the 328 was that great after all.

I would just enjoy the 328... freakin' sweet car man!

As for turbocharging it... I with everyone else... it typically costs like $8000 bucks to successfully turbocharge a car thru aftermarket. Might as well just buy a 335i.

In addition, the 328i is running the aluminum/magnesium composite block. Somehow I don't see this block handling a tonne of boost pressure at this point. Not to mention, who knows how the block would handle the heat?

Not much you can do, just enjoy the car, and maybe put a 100 shot on it for fun.

Selling and buying a 335i will be the cheapest route. You can not just get the turbos from a 335i and put it in your car..they don't even share the same engine.

In addition to the turbines themselves, you need other accessories to make everything work in harmony such as FMIC, wastegate, etc. It will be very expensive and make your car a lit more unreliable, part of the game..the more you do to the car, the more can go wrong.

Cheaper option, get an e46 and install one of the supercharges kits out for it.

I appreciate your enthusiasm OP but that is a terrible idea. No matter how good of a deal you got on the 328, you would save thousands of dollars by simply buying a 335. A factory setup is worth it's weight in gold in terms of function(not to mention the warranty)
