BMW and Mercedes

Car Magazine have an article about BMW and Mercedes co-operating more to cut costs. Interesting way for them to boost profits as both have had their fingers burned with buying other companys. Worth a read, it would mean more common parts or even cars that are much the same apart from branding, interior etc (like VW do I guess).

Very very interesting. Problem is now, if someone buys a Audi, I think VW! and porcshe v (sometimes), it blends the brands

but BMW and Merc have to do something, Audi is bringing out more models that a fashion show! its getting stupid IMO, a car in every segment, and some segments that haven't been invented (for a reason

I read an article last year based on BMW & Merc. joining forces to produce a small engined diesel, in a car based on the size of Audi's A1/A2. They believed by joining forces it would be more profitable in the long term, especially when developing engines to meet even more stringent and inevitable EU Co2 emission laws.
