Struggle Start
Hey Guys,
I bought my 08 335 back in November and have had nothing but problems. I just put in fuel injectors a week and go(still have to get them programed) and the car was running great. I took a little highway trip yesterday and something happened. I had the cruise set at 73MPH and all of a sudden the RPM's dropped down to 500 and shot back up to 3200 with an engine malfunction warning/ power reduced light. It now has a struggle to start. Here's a video; Took it to auto zone and the said the warning was a crank shaft sensor malfunction? I've watched a few videos and think it might be the fuel pump. Anybody had to deal with this agony on their N54 before? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Ryan |

Crank shaft sensor malfunction was the code that auto zone told me. Interesting thing is, I just drove it to the gas station(still having the engine malfunction) filled it up and the issue stopped. I was a little above a quarter of a tank before I filled up. ImGone 92 I too am thinking that... was that a heavy hit on the wallet?

I had to wait 4 days for them to run a simple diagnostic on my car. And I had the priveledge of driving one of their awesome rentals, if you're familiar, it's called a Kia Soul. It came equipped with complementary vomit on the door panel as a gesture of good will on their part. |

It was the HPFP. They covered it under warranty. Appreciate the help...BMW service department gets a lot of business, as a owner I can understand why, so it took me two weeks to get it in. Had to drive around with it like that for that long.
