it will only benefit you if you are using e85 mix or race gas

If you have only 91 gas, then map 1 is the recommended setting.

7/1 map 5 is a BETA autotuning map, suitable for all fuels ranging from 91 octane to race gas mixes including E85 mixes of up to 20%. For E85 mixes over 20% you need the flex fuel wires that will be available soon on their site.

How long are you suppose to run on map5 until it really auto tunes? I ran a mix of 103 and 93 and map5... I ran map5 for an hour and it felt like crap and I just switched to map 7 instead.

Map 5 is continuously learning all the time. So if it was detuning the performance it probably saw something it didn't like with the way your car is running.

You need to do a couple 3rd and 4th gear WOT pulls from about 2k - 7k for it to learn.

Hey Mike,
Is the 7/1 firmware the N55_070112.HEX file?
what do the flex fuel wires do?
Would map 5 be ideal if I have a downpipe / charge pipe / intake - or just map 1?

I would run map 5 and let it learn as you will get the most optimal settings for your setup and octane. The improved boost targeting has made cruising throttle response much better in my opinion.

I want to know if I'm in map 5 then I switch to map 0 or 2, for like a day, and then back to map 5. Do I have to do 3-4 WOT again so it can re-learn or is it a one time thing?

You guys should know by now that BMS posts all N55 firmware updates, beta notes, and that sort of information on their forum. You'll have to ask them there.
