You are the one requesting the inspection, you had your chance to come yesterday. How about when you are done with your dyno, drive home on the101, stop by. If you can find even one little microscopic piece of evidence that my bumper, or induction plumbing has been tampered with, or there are any nitrous switches, microswitches, etc...take pictures and show the world! Make sure you bring a professional camera with some good macro capabilities! Doesn't matter, if you want to come by at night, etc, I have some good lighting. I hope this is acceptable to you. That way I can be doing my own things, when you are inspecting my car.

What's interesting is IIRC Warren's best ET at Famoso was not yesterday but on the JB2HR on race gas.
The Sunoco 104 gas great.

You wont find one sign of any tampering on any intercooler, or induction piping. Not one scratch, or mark, or fingerprint. You will also be able to tell that my bumper, down pipes, etc, have NEVER been touched. The only aftermarket induction part I did try for about 3 days was a BMS single element filter. But never went to the track with it.
Fair enough Shiv?

Instead they'll happily spend their time typing up posts on this forum rather than just get together and dyno the car or something. Just shows you that either or both people don't really want the car inspected/verified.

I think since that you are the one calling him out on what he may or may not have on the car, it would only seem reasonable for you to make the effort to go to him. Why don't you just swing by his place after you are done with the meet at the shop and take him up on his offer to inspect his car?

Warren- inspecting your car is meaningless unless it is done in conjunction with some sort of power verification. If you are willing to meet with me on a road somewhere, why not just accept the $750 and dyno your car in front of independant 3rd parties. Unless I'm mistaken, wont this be the first publicized dyno run of your car?

Shiv,
I was extremely impressed as well, but I'm telling you, his car is a rare breed.
I trapped 115 with everything that I have and I was spinning all over the place.

Terry ran a 11.9 in his 135 at 116 mph
Here's my crappy time slips:

Hmm... free dyno runs, free hotdogs, free hamburgers, and an easy $750. This is a no brainer. Skip the football games and go meet the guy. Hell, you could buy yourself a nice pair of dp's for that.

Hi Craig-- I agree. I think all you guys did great. Warren was running traps as higher (and sometimes higher) than Terrys lighter and heavily modified 135 that is making 420+whp. So offering to pay him $750 to put down at least 400whp is a pretty good deal. In the end, I can't force him to do anything. If he wants to, he can. If not, that's life.

In all honestly, he would have gotten away with it if he had been more subtle about it and only squeezed in 4th and ran 112-113 traps. It also would have helped his cause if tuner wasn't there in a lighter, more modified car running the same tune. Oh well...

How about you come by tonight Shiv, I will take a run on the Vbox, show you a 117mph run(DA permitting), and then you can inspect my car! Doesn't get any more real than that. Why would I care if my car makes good/bad dyno numbers? I just want real usable power. And like I said, this map ran great on my 170mile trip back home, on 91 octane! If you want, you can see all my Vbox/track comparisons, they are right on the number. But from the past responses, I thought I would spare everyone the Vbox/Time slip analysis this time around. Seriously, I will go make the run, you can witness it, and then you can microscopically inspect my car. Would just take a few minutes of my time, and then you can look at the car till your satisfied. Lets get it done so you can satisfy your skepticism. Thats is more "real world" than your dyno numbers which I fear you might "manipulate". J/K. Shiv, I'm sure when you get back to cold, sea level Sacramento, your tune only V3 cars will turn in some spectacular numbers. In fact at sea level, your temps would only have to be in the 56F instead of 46F (all other factors the same) to duplicate our DA conditions. Just make sure they aren't running over 16psi or so, to make it a fair comparison.

One of the reasons I'm asking you to come to this meet is so that this inspection can be done properly in front of people. Right after the dyno. What you are suggesting will not settle this matter.

Btw, terrys vbox results showed him trapping at over 120mph. He was 3-4mph short of that at the strip. Bzzzt try again.

Get your freak on...

Let's employ a little logic here and make a couple of basic assumptions:

1) That this particular 335 *is* a factory freak (That we wish we had)
2) That there aren't any other modifications done to the car

If this is the case (and the car is way outside the bell curve so to speak) then whichever tune he's running would be considered the fastest or the quickest (or both)

As an outlier, it really isn't fair to claim that the tune alone is responsible for the performance. He could just as easily run the other tune and make crazy numbers and proclaim that to be the better solution.

It would be great to see some dyno numbers and settle this whole thing but if this doesn't happen we're left with wondering if the car has unseen mods or if it's just a freak of nature. Of course putting the car on the dyno might just open Pandora's box and give us even more questions...

Wow, you are the "squeeze expert!" This is so funny, it is making me laugh. Oh well, it is what it is. Come by tonight if you want to arrange a run and inspection.

Also FYI, dyno runs don't tell what power your car is going to make when you have 100mph 48F air blowing at it. There are so many variables. But same day, same track comparos are very revealing. I would actually be proud that my car makes very little HP and runs great track numbers. I personally get more usable data from over a hundred runs on my Vbox than I would from a few dyno runs, but then I guess that is just my opinion?

Nice #'s Warren!
I can't believe I just read three pages of this.
I have a basic question....does a dyno actually mean anything? I mean seriously. Actual on the track #'s or dynos? No need to answer. It's a rhethorical question. I'm going back to scalbert's thread.

Don't blame the Vbox on inaccurate results. His car just wasn't running up to snuff. But I still think it is the quickest and fastest 135i, am I not correct?

And quick question, how is it that a proper inspection is determined by how many people are standing around watching. You have an event in which people have devoted their time to try your products, I am sure you will be busy. You can spend all the time you want tonight, without the distractions, a great flashlight, I will even supply the camera, and you can see if you can even find a loose bolt, smudge, fingerprint, etc, on the suspect parts.

To me its not even dyno numbers I'm interested in seeing but seeing the car dynod independently in front of other people and the willingness of the OP to do it. Sorry but the relucatence of the OP to do it and settle things once and for all bothers me and I'm completely neutral.
