Can You?
I have a 2009 and there are some things I just cant find.. like.. THE UPS STORE FED EX KINKOS Can you name other places or locations that your i-Drive just simply can not find. Even with a 2009, I feel like I need an upgraded i-Drive software already. |

You're right. It doesn't seem to have these businesses in the database. You can find the local post office, however

I can now find Kragens, fed-ex, kinkos, and the UPS store . I wonder how doable it is for me to integrate teh 6M POI file from the Magellan 3200 to the BMW Naviagation disc? Gary |

The Information thingy in iDrive, at least the pre 09 ones, is completely fail. It's hard to find anything. I just look it up on the iPhone and put in the info. JFGI as they say.

With the 09 the search function is MUCH improved. You don't have to guess at catagories. It's just the POI database that seems a bit lacking. I guess that's one way to get people to pony up $199 for the BMW Assist Concierge that lets you do Google search from your car.

No non_BMW Car Dealers
Hi,
I was playing with the new i-drive yesterday and decided to ask for guidance to the Subaru dealer where my other car was being serviced. It did not exist in the POI file. I also looked for Mazda and Audi with no success. I then tried to put in the names of some of the car dealerships also with no success. If I asked the POI to search by category and selected 'CAR', and it only had two BMW listings. I tried the names of some other small businesses, not in the automotive trade, and they all seemed to be there. I would be disappointed if they actually have gone to the trouble of deleting non-BMW automotive businesses. Can anyone confirm my findings? Thanks Tom
