The easiest/best way to post your pics is to use the member's garage feature -- that way there is a link to your car that shows in your messages (like mine to the left here...)

No experience with either of them, but I've heard good things about Duss Bros BMW Specialists on Island Park/Wellington and about RJ Motors on Edgewater in Kanata (they specialize in euro cars).

Hey all,

I guess I'm a new Ottawa member. I just moved back to Ottawa after a year and a half in Saskatchewan, and just bought my first BMW.

I am a long-time member of the car clubs around here, and the motorsports community. In the second half of the 1990s, I was very active with Motorsport Club of Ottawa (MCO) as a season competitor for Solo2, a participant at their track days at Tremblant & Shannonville, Ice Dice in the winter, and as an instructor for Solo2 and winter drving schools. I've also been an active member of the Rennsport Region Porsche Club since 1999, and of the Thousand Islands Z Car Club since 2003. I also had a brief fascination with off-roading, and was an active member of Ottawa Valley Offroaders for a year or two.

When I moved to Regina, I traded my solar yellow Lexus IS300 in on a 2006 Yukon SLT. Although it was a great truck, when I decided to return to Ottawa, I sold the Yukon and decided to go back into a sport sedan. I picked up my 18 month old, 24K kms Certified Series 2006 330i a week before I left SK, and drove the car back - what an awesome way to get acquainted with your car! In addition to the way it drove (that was a given), I loved that it got 7.4L/100kms on that drive!

As this is my DD and I have a couple of other cars to play with, I don't really want to get into modding this car. I do, however, need some rims to put snows on this winter, and I'm debating whether to buy a cheap set of wheels for snows, or to buy a new set of summer wheels and run snows on the factory wheels. If I go with new summer wheels, I'd like to run the staggered setup, but am seriously considering staying 17" given the state of the roads. I guess my first choices would be to find a set of 17" 161s, or possibly 18" 162s. If anyone within decent driving is selling, please contact me!

I hope that we have another GTG soon. I'd love to meet you guys, and I like the idea of a more "informal club" - my wallet's already empty after paying Porsche club and Z club dues!

They are slightly turned It's in the Desmarais Underground Lot, I was just walking back from class and snapped that pic with my phone, didn't plan it. I'll probably do a photoshoot down there sooner or later (I like that location).

Hey desi, saw you at OttawaU today. I was walking on the pedestrian walkway and you were turning left from cumberland towards laurier. Didnt know how to say hi as wasnt near my car lol. Those tints looked nice on SG!

So I have a proposition for you Ottawa guys. Anybody looking for tints? I was going to have my cab tinted by the same guy that did my e90 and got talking to some friends and organized a de-facto group buy. I already have 8 people, the minimum was 5. I am just thinking a) incase anyone here wants tints I could get you in on this to get a discount and b) I want to push for a larger discount if I can break 10. Details are as follows:

Film : Llumar Mettallic
%age: Your choice
Date: Date of your choosing sometime next week, essentially I give you the phone number and you give him my name and say you are a part of the group buy and select a mutually agreeable time.
Cost: Regular $180, this deal is currently for $160. For 2 door cars (e92s) it is $140. Why so cheap? This guy has very minimal overhead as he dosen't run a shop, he comes to you and does it provided you have a garage to prevent contamination from blowing in.

Quality: I have had my e90 with tints done by this guy for over a year with no regrets whatsoever. There is some super, super minor imperfections on the back window but if you look that closely on any tint you'll find some.



If anyone is interested, let me know within the next day or two as this is moving ahead next week. Sorry about such short notice but this entire thing came together in the last few hours actually.
