60' Times
So I have a FBO RWD 6AT E90 N54 with runcraps; no LSD. Car is full weight daily driver. I've been stuck right around 2.01s for my 60' times and I think the car is capable of more than that. My launches are really holding back my ET's, so any input would be helpful. Overall I'm running around a 12.78 @ 110 mph.
I guess my main question is what would be a realistic target for me to shoot for given my mods and open diff/tires? If you are running a similar setup to me but are doing much better than 2.0x please chime in! I was looking through the drag times sticky but it's kind of hard to pick out the right data. (Come to think of it, it would actually be cool if there was a filter set up somehow in the sticky to add mods from a dropdown and filter the timeslips to get, say cars with no LSD or just tune and intake, etc...food for thought!) My procedure is to turn TC off completely, start in M2, load the converter to about 2,000 rpms and launch trying to hit the kickdown button! Thanks in advance, Sickem

My best 60' today (and only time I've gone to the strip) was 1.946 with stock runflats. I ran a 11.92.
I'm FBO, but also running 38% ethanol in the tank (6 gallons e85 / 10 gallons 93 octane). My drag slips: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=279 |

If someone can also explain to me why everyone says to start in second gear? I have a buddy who's been helping me at the track with decades of dragracing experience and he cannot understand why we should start in M2.

All the details of my run are in the link i posted. Launch control wouldnt work with all the torque i have, so i used a modified way that BuraQ taught me and launched arouns 2000rpms at about 30% throttle until it gripped.
My friends who were running with a 6AT had their best times launching in 2nd gear. Our cars have a lot of torque in the lower RPMs and it helps to get traction, also the nees for one less shift was getting them better times. |
