E34 Offsets

Hi guys,

Got a wierd question. A guy wants to come and get my E90 rims to fit on his.... wait for it... E34 520i. Just wondering if anyone knows the offsets for those old 5 series.

My guess is that my rims wont fit

Nothing weird about that. I've mixed generations a little before too.

E34's naturally have a lower offset (usually et20 for 8 or 9 inch wide), so I suggest trial fitting them. I'm pretty sure they'll fit, but they won't sit as nicely under the guards due to the higher offset. Spacers can help rectify that though, as well as helping any scrubbing issues on the insides.

You might need hub-centric rings too.

Standard Msport E34 wheel is 17 x 8 ET 15/20 R/F respectively.

So these will be a conservative fitment on an E34... further googling reveals that you will hit the struts (front has less clearance on the rear) so you will need a 20mm spacer and longer bolts for them to fit and work properly. A pair of spacers can be had for 140-150.
A 20mmspacer is relatively large, but with longer bolts it should work fine.

The hubsize is the same (72.56mm) on both cars so you will not need hubcentric rings.

I owned an E34 with BBS RS212 wheels.

This is not my pick but you can see the size and offset.
