E90 Fusebox Access and Fuse Removal

Hi All

I am struggling to to get to the fuses in the fusebox.

I see the fusebox but I am unable to get a clear view (or any view) of what I am doing once I try to reach in to check/remove any fuses.

At present I am leaving passenger door open and then sitting on the door sill but then when I reach in my view is restricted.

Please can you share your trips and tricks are surely I am not the only one who has this issue.

The fusebox in my E83 (X3) is much easier to access compared to this.

On a side note I need to remove the negative feed on the battery but that has a black cover on this whohc has 2 wires attached to it.
Any tips on this would alos be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

i kneel down from outside the car,,put a cushion on the ground for ya knees,,and if you need to disconnect the battery its easy,,either the terminals under bonnet or battery in boot..

wires to negative battery connector is IBS sensor
you can safely unscrew nut to loose connection and remove it

Thanks for the reply. I wasn’t sure if the black plastic cover needed removing but I have just seen a vid where it is left on and just pulled out of place.

I just tend to block my own view. I’ll have to sort my technique out.
Thanks

So I managed to disconnect the battery for around a minute and then plugged it back in. But my door fault remains.
