Shipping Cost

Hello all,

I am currently selling my HREs and has been researching shipping costs online. I checked with UPS and the cost for shipping out 4 wheels (w/ tires) comes out to be around $400. I see online other members are only charging $200 or so for shipping. Are there more economical companies to use for this type of shipping??????

Thanks

I've never shipped wheels before but greyhound ships larger items like a bumper for pretty cheap.

check this out...

http://www.shipnex.com/default.aspx

Got the info from other bimmer forums, don't know if it is in here somewhere or not. Here is a quote from there:

"When I compared prices to ship a set of wheels & tires (18 x 8.5 w/ 235/35/18 tyres ~210lbs) I was quoted $416 via UPS, $376 via USPS, $308 via FedEx, and $206 via ShipNex to ship from the West Coast to the East Coast."

I would take the dimensions of your box and a good weight estimate down to your local UPS store and see whats up. $400 is more than double what I've been charged at UPS before

+1. I have shipped several sets of wheels all over the country and have never paid more than $200.00 or so.
