Good news...

the 24 LED can be use in center console.. create a super bright 24 LED light.. that could blind ur eyes...

How bright are your LEDs? Can you compare them to, say, the Lexus GS350? Your pics dont look as bright as those do, but it could just be the picture. By the way, I know these Hoens aren't LEDs, but they look pretty white and bright (and they are cheaper - $12.00 per pair) :

I tried doing this but I can't get it to work. I followed all the instructions and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. One of the LED pads started melting.

Did the LED light up at all?

if it did not light up and start melting... means that you have the LED on backward... LED is directional... so you need to swap that Festoon arround.

You don't have to sand drill if it's too much work. It'll still fit.. just not as good.

you don't really need another housing to attempt this... it's kinda hard to mess up. and even with those plastic pieces removed, the oem halogen bulb will still fit in the housing; so you can always to back to using them if you like. I think buying new housings just for the LEDs will cost too much money and won't be worth it.

You can push the housing to the right, and then pull down the left side. It should come out pretty easily like that.
