Best way to diagnose/troubleshoot? I have a multimeter handy.

Also, I have a dashcam with a powermagic, but even when it's disconnected I'll still have a similar issue (though I wonder if the powermagic isn't turning off the camera when voltage drops - anyway to test that?)
Did u not buy a AGM battery ? Warranty ? I did read a similar case , the person went to the dealership and the battery was replaced no questions asked.
Yes, I did upgrade to AGM and a larger capacity (coded and registered at install).

Need to do some multimeter testing then go from there.

Hey Guys,

I am going through some weird issues as well since things got cold. I want to confirm this - if I don't have a black box at the negative terminal it means I don't have the Intelligent Battery System and therefore don't need coding.

Also since getting cold I've been getting random sluggish starts not double starts just sluggish. Changed the battery and same issue. I did some research online and people were saying ensure you have a good amt of fuel.. Granted my fuel light may have been on, so fulled up and checking again now to see.

So I am now wondering if with low fuel / cold and you get a sluggish start does it mean something else is going or just the right combination for something else. Also after a sluggish start if you start right after it is fine (normal).

I have the same problem, battery checked out 100%. Starter cranks slowly when the engine is cold. I documented it here:

This would be a worthwhile investment:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/A170-Pack-B.../dp/B00I8LG8LI

Also in colder weather you want to maintain that battery. If you drive 5 days a week on drives that get the engine up to temperature then great. If you drive a few days or the car is unused 3-4 days at a time then it is a good idea to connect a battery tender like CTEK. Provided you can reach a power source.

The CTEK polar edition is worth considering if you don't have a battery tender:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-MXS-5-.../dp/B006OWBV1K

You could also consider something like this regardless of fuel quality: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wynns-71867.../dp/B006I4AHNC

We are now in winter with numerous negative days and the car is starting no problem. So confusing. Almost as if it needed to transition to winter during the fall cold days.

You need to diagnose why the car is pulling current.
So do you have an active alarm ? lights ? aftermarket radio ? etc?

If not trouble step would be starter/alternator.
Batteries should go about 4 years, give or take.

Had my starter/alternator cable go on my e90 N55. Had swapped the battery due to slow start, help some, but then the cable physically broke. Corrosion leads to higher resistance. Since I replaced that cable, it starts like a new car!

Guys if you do need a battery and its not the grounding cable. Go with Costco..

High quality H6/h7/h8 batteries from costco from 120 to 160 dollars.. PRogram with ISTA D its free.. Just did mine. New battery even fixed my not so smooth cold start idle.

How ? im not sure, That Saturday i drove the car for around 250km and the problem just did not happen again for couple of weeks after that .

I am working from home and drive the car probably 10km a day in the city , but sometimes i don't even drive it at all for 1 or 2 days...

Am i not driving the car enough to recharge the battery?
Has anyone without access to a power source to trickle charge tried a solar charger like this? https://www.autogeek.net/5-watt-solar-charger.html
