length of build time?
i know the norm and what the dealers all say is 6-8 weeks. when my grandfather got his 07 328i sedan build his guy (soon to be my guy) said from 4-6 weeks and he got his in 4.
whats the avg. time that you guys have had to wait? and is there a posibility of my wait time being inside 6 weeks? thanks. |

It all depends on when the car is scheduled for production and when you place an order. If you can catch an earlier build that is in 112 status and modify it to the options you want and then it's marked as a Priority 1 ( customer sold ) build then it can be started earlier than scheduled. Which will up you delevery date. And you are on the East coast, takes four to five weeks for cars to arrive on the WC, so I would imagine that it may only take a week to ship and process at the port.
So is 4 weeks a possibility... Fo Sho

thanks deuce. im putting my order for an M sport SG/coral 335xi coupe on tuesday. i was a little dissappointed that by the time it arrives the summer would be long gone. what was your total wait time? i guess being on the west coast you guys have a lil more incentive to do ED of even pick up in SC huh?

The ED would actually take longer because of the when and where the new car would get shipped from.
And to pick up in Sc I'd have to drive it home some 2500 miles. I was patient and waited for it at the Dealership

What he said!
Your dealer should be able to tell you almost immediately what the next possible "slot" is. From then the only big variable is shipping time - which seems to be a bit frustrating lately. There are a few people (myself included) that have had cars that appear to have been completed as far back as May 27? or so that are still not officially on a boat. That's how you can go from 1 week to build, 2 weeks on boat, +1 week to get to your dealer = 4 weeks to 6-7 before it gets to you. |
