Angry Crunch!

The pics say it all. :sad0147::sad0147:

Impressed with the dealer / BMW Ins service so far. That car is booked in for tomorrow morning and a 330d Touring arranged as a courtesy car.

Bugger.

Good you had the camera, makes any insurance questions very straightforward. I had the same happen to me on a test drive with a 335i ... but I was hit full-on by a lady in a Range Rover. Needed more than T-Cut. Was shortened considerably.

If it caught you by surprise, get yourself along to the Doctor. Just to get it on record. These things take a few days to really manifest themselves even if you feel fine now. Worst that can happen is you get to say "hi" to your Doctor.

Hope it gets resolved quickly.

I had a van go into the back of my last e46 320cd about a week after I collected it. Very annoying, but it will be fixed.

I find it bizarre how quickly people follow behind me, given that I'm pretty certain that my brakes are better than theirs, which they will find out come emergency stop time.

My experience is that whiplash kicks in 24-48 hours later.

Thanks guys.

It was a fairly minor hit really (but still effing annoying though, BMW driver's eh ), the traffic was doing no more than about 10mph up the slip road and I had completely stopped for at least a second if not more before there was a loud bang! The car didn't even move as I still had the brakes on, so I'm fine.

The other guy was pretty shamefaced about it, but it's going to cost him (or rather his insurers). The damage to my car doesn't look too bad on the face of it, no doubt helped by the fact that it was a pretty square on hit and there is some sort of crash pad there apparently. It looks like his bumper went over the exhaust system, but they'll be having a close look when they get the car stripped down. At the very least it's a new bumber, diffuser, PDC sensors, crash pad and associated mounts. The assesor took a look at the pics of his car and reckons that it'll be an expensive job involving one of the crossmembers behind the bumper... serves him right!

Happened at 0850 this morning and by 1100 the car had been seen by the local bodyshop, booked in for tomorrow and a 330d Touring arranged as a courtesy car.

I can sympathise. Mine was hit twice by different drivers when still very new. It's that sinking feeling as you realise you're goping to be hit that I detest...

It always ends up costing more than you first imagine! Efficient service from BMW and I'm sure it will look as new when it's sorted.

Got pushed sideways across his lane - entire left side of his car is wrecked, wheels too. Polish driver, didn't speak English, Lithuanian registered truck. Messy...

Pictures up later

I noticed that as well. Also the posed photo by the lorry! 'Hey, look what my BMW did to his. They've mated' could be the caption. And the lorry driver's obviously leaning out of his cab and saying 'BMW driving twats...' But probably in Polish or Serbo Croat.

I was hit by a Czech lorry on the M1 six years ago - he took out the passenger door, front wing and front wheel, and there was nothing I could do since I was stationary. But it sounds like James' accident is quite a bit worse... hope he's ok.

Rockit, didnt your dad spank into you?

Hope James is ok!!

My miswah has hit by a fookin twat lorry driver on a mobile on the m11 two years ago, she had onyl been driving 3 weeks and was scared out of her skin

Look at the rear quarter panel, thank fook no-one was sitting in the rear as it would have killed them, the rear panel protruded into the passenger cabin!

the lorry smashed into the back of her sent her piroetting smashed into the front as she span round then she smashed onto the barrier!

she ended up facing the wrong way on the m11, at rush hour in the dark.. several c***s drove around her and drove off

The doors would not open as it was so bent Obviously with this all going on the car stalled so all the dash lights came on and she thought the oil light was leaking petrol and thought it was going to burst into flames

she was pysically sick when we got her home and couldnt eat for 2 days and had bad whiplash... Luckily a doctor was only a few cars behind. She loved her little 16v fiesta, it was pride and joy. we Searched high and low for a low owner low mileage example which she only had 2 months.. She has another one now. After looking at another 10 to find the right one.. She was scared of going on the M-way for a year. She is a good driver tho, and she got paid out a few months later!
