brake pad work at dealer? how much?

I still have my warranty, 2010 will be my last year.
i just want to know that once my 4 year warranty expires, how much would BMW dealers charge for brake pad change/brake work, etc etc(including labor).

this will give me some heads up on getting extended warranty or not.

thanks

find an Indy shop or do it yourself once you are out of warranty. Brakes are absolutely cake to do yourself.

I had my rear pads + sensor replaced at a great auto shop for $225. New rotors would have been a few hundred more.

Find a shop in your area that works on european cars and you are probably looking at between 2.5-3 hours of labor charges at 80 per hour. So somewhere arounf 200-240 to change out the brake pads and sensors.

The dealer is a rip off.

I did my brakes a few months ago. The parts (4 rotors, 2 pad sets, and 2 sensors) from Tischer cost just over $530. Throw in 4 hours for labor at $100an hour and your talking about $1,000. DIY and save. It's a pretty easy job if you've done brakes before, no different than any other car (except for the sensors). The rear sensor is a bit difficult because you have to dig into the fender liner to replace it.

my dealer charge $650/axle. I had rear brake done last week at 49400 miles free of charge, but the mechanic did not put a new brake rotor in. I heard they suppose to replace the rotor when put in new pads.
