Couple newbie questions before going nonRFT route
E92 335xi newbie that needs to switch to non-RFT ASAP
Couple question before ordering a set of wheels+nonRFT tires. 1) What is E92 18" stock front and rear offsets? [i'm sorry for this question, but i did try search button and had no luck finding the stock offset specs.] 2) What is E92 19" stock front and rear offsets? 3) Thinking about going with four same size rims(front+rear) 19x8.5 or since i have a xi model i should stay with 18x8.5? is any benefits of choosing 18x8.5 over 18x8? 4) when rim size is listed, example 19x8.5-does 8.5 represent width of the rim?; can it take more than its Recommended Tire Size? in example with 19x8.5 +30mm rim, Recommended Tire Size is 235/35-19, will i have any problems going with 245/40-19 instead? will it hurt handling? and the famous question "will it rub?" 5) Your thoughts on 19" Breyton Race GTS Matte Grey vs. 19/18" VMR VB3 CSL Gunmetal vs. 18" Breyton Race GTS Silver vs. 19" Miro M01 CSL HyperSilver for the Sparkling Graphite Thanks in advance!! |

Nick, Thank you very much for the answers!!
Thinking about going with four same size rims, and same tire size spec as well...to avoid spare headache... and ultimately running with no spacers-is that possible?! So looking at VMR homepage they list their VB3 CSL as 19 x 8.5” / + 20mm, 40mm - is 20 and 40 is the only offset that is possible, or everything else would mean i would have to install spacers?! is possible to run 18x8.5+35 front with 235/40-18 and 18x8.5+40 rear with 235/40-18 or 18x8.5+35 front with 245/40-18 and 18x8.5+40 rear with 245/40-18 or in case of 19" 19x8.5+35 front 245/35/19 and 19x8.5+40 rear 245/35/19... Thanks in advance!! P.S.: not planning to lower the car in near future...so stock sport xi suspension height. it me or CSL reps have different concavity comparing fronts and rears-i would like to have same amount of concavity on all four rims...possible?! The 20 offset will be far too aggressive for your car so if you do the same size all around, you will want to run spacers on the rear (10mm) to make them flush with the fenders.
Whichever you go with (18s or 19s), you will want to do the 18x8.5 or 19x8.5 ET40 all around. You can run a 235 tire on either one but I don't recommend going any larger as you risk rubbing in the front. The CSLs do have different concavities between the various widths and offsets. The more aggressive the offset, the deeper the concavity. So for instance, a 19x9.5 ET33 will have a deeper offset than its 19x8.5 ET40 front counterpart or a 19x9.5 ET45. The 19x9.5 ET22 would have the deepest concavity but is too aggressive for your car. If you maintain the same width and offset all around, they will have the same concavity. |
