Active Tune for 335i

I am new to the BMW world and have a 2011 335i coupe 6sp as a daily driver and wanted to add some fun factor to it. I have been reading up on all of the tuning soluitons but have not really found much on members with the Active reflash tune for the N55 motor.

If anyone has this tune, I would love some feedback. I am looking at putting on the following: Akrapovic SS exhaust system, BERK coated down pipe, and the active tune for daily duties.

Anyone care to share?

I currently have put active tunes on 2 of my father's rides and he couldn't be happier. 2010 328i sport wagon (stage 2 tune), and 2011 M3 with competition package and akrapovic titanium exhaust. Looking to see if they have made improvements with the N55.

From my experience, usually Florida locals tend to gravitate towards AA because they are are local and they both sell and install their products.

Here on forums and such, AA products don't do well at all because they are usually severely lacking either power of feature-wise compared to the competition.

I too have an N55 and am in the market for a flash tune, but would never consider AA a viable option!

If it was a handheld tune I would have bought its along time ago... the fact that I have to send them my ECU is a deal killer.

May I ask why you would come to such a conclusion without ever driving a car with our flash?

Many customers are very happy with such tunes as dinan or the Bmw Performance flashes and our flash will blow both of those out of the water. Check our dyno sheets

Yes we do not offer shift lights or map switching on the fly but we do offer a very reliable performance flash while remaining incredibly smooth throughout the power band which piggy backs cannot do.

I stand behind any AA tune, any day of the week. Had an AA on my old 328- no issues and a noticeable improvement- for what's left on the table to be had. If I could find a local installer I'd do it again in a heartbeat- but alas I cannot

If/when I go with a 3rd party tune, it's going to be something reliable and smooth which doesn't impede the car's elegance as a daily driver.

Dinan is my #1 choice because they also offer a warranty, but I'll check out AA's tune as well.

I like the idea of better reliability of the flash. But is flash tune reversible when it is time for service?

Will Active be coming up with a flash tune that can be installed by authorized dealers anytime soon instead of having to ship off the ECU to you?

Yes, but if you bring your car in for warranty work the dealership will be able to tell your car had been running higher boost. This is the downside of flashes and makes piggybacks more desirable since they intercept the sensors. (although they can still detect it through the cars black box, but BMWNA has to step in- this is very very rare, in most cases you'll get away with a piggyback)

That said, I've used a bunch of AA products in the past and they do top-notch work. I'm sure their flash is everything they promise it to be

This would be ideal and we realize that but until the new ecu is cracked sending the ecu to us will be the only option.

What does an Active Autowerke tuned n55 typically run at the dragstrip?

Don't you have the AA software? I'd like to see 1/4 mile times and trap speeds instead of 1/8th.
