Moved to the '5' side
Today I waved a fond farewell to my beloved 330d M Sport and drove away from the dealer in a new F10 535d M Sport.
I really wanted nothing more than a new version of my '08 E92, but the 2010 LCI modifications and quality cuts ruined the car for me, hence the move. The new car is an absolute delight, especially the Adaptive Drive, but I already know that I'll be cursing the extra two doors and increased height every time I wash it. I'll be eagerly awaiting the next new 3er coupe and in the fullness of time I'm sure that - I'll be back! In the meantime, my thanks to all of you with whom I've shared questions, advice, banter and even the occasional bit of thinly veiled invective! Cheers for now, Jon D. PS: a pair of pristine genuine BMW black intake grilles soon to be advertised on 'ebay'. |

Very nice! I really like the new 5er.
If/when we need more space, the 535d Touring may just be the ticket. Any pics Jon? |

I wish the new 5 wasnt bigger than the last. The last 5 was almost an unacceptable size for what I could ever imagine driving. Says it all that they put four-wheel steering on the thing!!
Saying that, other than the size, I love the new 5 series look. With a bit of luck the next 3 series will share similar things. |

Give me a break guys - I picked up the car in Aberdeen and drove home in the pissing rain over roads covered in farmer's filth .
Car is now washed, dried and in the garage awaiting an early start with the 'Werkstat' and 'Poorboys' wheel sealant. Pics to follow in the next couple of days, but won't it qualify as some form of treason to post 5er pics on a 3er forum? You'll all have to promise not to tell... |

I agree about the wheels, but I didn't like the spoke design of the optional 19's and they didn't appear to noticeably fill the arches. My plan is to see how I go with the car and, if I decide to keep it, I'll probably get a set of 20" 'V' spoke 281 style wheels after the winter. |
