BG 44K in N54?

Is anyone using BG 44K to clean the fuel system and combustion chambers in the N54? I know it will not be of much use for the intake valves but perhaps for the rest of the fueling system.

Is it different from the chevron fuel system cleaner?

Yes it's a stronger chemical than the chevron. Dealers sell "BMW fuel system cleaner" that is openly the exact same stuff as the tecron additive with a different label. Costs $12 I think at the dealer. We don't have chevron where I live, so I don't know how much they sell it for at gas stations.

Found this video.....could be repost, it's the BG induction service performed on an Audi with the FSI motor which is also notorious for carbon buildup, like I said in another thread this could be hype, but I'd be willing to give this a try at my local BG sevice shop if its not too pricey

I used this stuff about 2 months ago. It seemed to help the car out a bit, it may just be placebo though...

The induction service is excellent. We've been using BG at my shop for many years and IMHO it's the best stuff out there. It also helps clean up catalytic converters that may be oil-coated (I've seen it in the ASM results - we are an emissions repair shop). We were also cleaning a lot of VW TDI's that suffered from coking in the intake and nothing did a better job than the BG stuff. Sorry to sound like a commercial, but I like BG. I'm going to be doing the induction service on my shortly since I just hit 50k, so I'll post my results.
* The 44K is just a "maintainer" for an already clean system.

i did it on my b7 2.0t @ 55k, 90k, 120k, and 150k, and i gotta say i got mixed results.

i wanna tell you its a difference you can feel, but its only for the first couple of thousand of miles. i ended up running meth on my car from ~90k+ and that seemed to make the biggest difference. car felt very strong off them meth.......

that being said, i think the 2.0t has more carbon buildup issues than the n54.

It should be possible to run the same treatment on N54 via the methanol injection as they do with the Audi DI engine with the BG tool. It assumes you have an adjustable methanol controller of course so the time to empty a can of fuel treatment is about the same.

I've done the induction cleaning on my 135 at 17k and now at 34k. It does make a big difference, but it's not as effective as the walnut shell blasting or other means of mechanical cleaning that get it 99% clean.

Thanks for reply guys. I've now ordered the BG 44k fuel treatment and the ICS treatment via induction pipe for intake valve cleaning. I'll report the outcome later.
The BG 44K fuel treatment is compatible with e85. This means it can be used in the meth/water mixture and injected by the meth system and work the same way as in a conventional engine.

Does anyone have a DIY available for running a professional fuel system cleaning on the N54? Can we safely run a BG, Snap-On or similar pressurized fuel system cleaning on our N54? I apologize if it's out there, but I've been searching, and can't find a DIY.

Thanks!
