DKNewYork, first of all, really clean M5! I was also wondering what type of faring you have? I went through the thread again and did not see the brand. I am looking to get one come spring time and yours has nice detail to it.
I'll get a pick up of the 1er with racks by Sunday! |

Anyone know a fairing that will fit the BMW bars? I have yakima snowboard racks on there now but i needed different mounts to get those to fit, anyone know if I would need different mounts for the fairing too or is there a fairing out there that fits ?

Two questions for people with the Thule fairing:
1. How are you mounting it so it's flat? My sides curve up like some on here 2. How are you guys going about removing the "THULE" lettering for those who have done it? Thanks |

As others have asked in this thread, I did use the Thule clips that came with the fairing. It does not seem like they are going to be close to fitting at all when you first line it up. You have to force the one end of the clip over the front of the bar and then push the back end up and it will clip on. They do not fit perfect, but like others have said it holds fine. I will get up close pictures for everyone.

Need some suggestions:
I already have Thule square bars, feet for a wagon (useless), feet that latch under the door (also useless), and my ski and bike pieces. I'm looking at getting the OEM rack because it looks like I can get one for cheaper than just the Thule feet and fit kit to go with my bars. Does anybody have any less expensive alternatives or maybe a place that sells Thule feet and such for cheaper? It looks like I can get the OEM rack for $200 or maybe under from eBay. |
