Powerchip Group Buy - Northwest Edition (that means you too, Oregon and Vancouver BC)

Powerchip is thinking of doing a group buy out here in Seattle . I'm trying to gauge how many people would be interested in getting their ECU flashed by them. If we can get enough people together, Powerchip will fly out here and give us discounted group buy pricing . Best of all, we'll be able to have our ECU flashed with NO downtime

I've been considering an ECU flash for some time now and am deciding to pull the trigger on it. If you're interested, please add your name to the list. Let's get this party started fellas...

so i'm wondering - while they are still testing the stage 2 + vanos tuning for the US market, would they upgrade us to that tune cheap/free if we go with the regular stage 2 tune for now?

In standard form, the M3 4.0 V8 produces 555 hp and 213 lb.-ft.

Powerchip has a range of chips to suit your car, which can increase it's power to 593 hp, and it's torque to 227 lb.-ft.
their numbers seem to be way off for M3

for $990, the power gain seems kind of low compare to JB3 or Procede.

As I understand it, you would just either pay the difference between Stage 2 and Stage 2 + Vanos or purchase their handheld flasher which would include Stage 3 and Stock map allowing you to effectively switch between the two any time you want. I believe the handheld flasher is going to be like 200-300 dollars.

Yea, those numbers are definitely not right. I think they just made a mistake. Those look like horsepower numbers from an M5/M6.

Powerchip is a very reputable company. Checkout their website: powerchipgroup.com/

Do a search on M3 post and you'll find a lot of info on them. All the reviews that I've read are of satisfied customers.

Groupbuy pricing wouldn't be 990. Try around 800 'ish. I'm not sure about what kind of gains JB3 or Procede offer but Powerchip does great work and they back themselves with a 14 day money back gaurantee and 3 yr warranty.

If they know you have the tune, yes, it will void the warrranty. If I understand correctly, BMW service locations don't exactly have the capabilities to see whether you've reflashed your ECU or not, depending on what type of a tune you have. However, if the car is sent into BMW NA, I believe they ARE able to see if the ECU has been remapped or not. This is only what I've read about other people's experiences. But, rest assured, Powerchip offers 14 day money back gaurantee and 3yr warranty. Also, soon they will be coming out with a handheld flasher at which point you will be able to flash your car back to the stock ECU file at any given time. Hope that helps.

So, it's been confirmed. You can upgrade to the Stage2 + Vanos from just the regular Stage2 for a nominal fee of 200-300, which includes the handheld flasher which will have the Stage2 + Vanos and your Stock file. This will allow you to flash back to stock at any time.
