Steptronic Shift Points

I just had the PROGMAN software updated in my 2007 335i turbo; I am noticing that the car seems less responsive from a stop and that the car wont shift as quickly into 6th gear. It now shifts from 5 to 6th gear around 46mph. It used to shift around 40 mph. Can Steptronic owners let me know at what speed your cars shift from 5th to 6th and if anyone else has had the same effect with the software update?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the club

See the sticky on the top of the Turbo/FI Engine link about 29.2 Progman.

That unresponsive start from a stop is the first thing I noticed about my new 335i, then came the turbo lag.

I'm installing a REV II Proceed from Vishnu this week to help alleviate the problem.

Well, I guess I'm not alone! At what speed does your car presently upshift from 5th to 6th gear?

Guys, don't drive in D. The car is so underwhelming that way. Stick it in manual and shift the car with the paddles or shift lever at the points you want. Problem solved, and much more fun to drive.

Have you had the software updated in your car? If not, when was it built?
Thanks a lot for the information; that's what I wanted to know.

I've had no updates to the software. It was built in March 2008.

Have step but never used it in auto mode. Always in manual mode. I think this is the best compromise of auto and manual with cluch.

Certainly does. Especially the way I drive.

But you can always short shift in manual mode, too. I do it all the time when the oil temp is low.
