Fecked Orfff!!

Just returned from foreign parts and eager to drive my new 335D coupe, which was ordered in July with a probable delivery in early/mid Sept.
I phoned the dealer today only to be told that it now won't be here until week 42!!!

Apparently they are having problems with the twin-turbo's,which is also having an effect on X5 production (like I give a toss!)

Any one else been given this story, or is the goon blowing smoke up my arse?
Is the car now going to be an 07 spec or 08?
I seem to recall having read somewhere that car's built after wk 36 will benefit in some way, will this assuage my foul temper?

Answers greatly appreciated, along with a comprehensive idiot's guide to checking the oil level, as this seems to be causing a great deal of anguish amongst the forum.

I thank you.

Not good, but you will probably get an MY08 car. 12% more efficient and lower VED band. I would definately push for the dealer matching the original invoice/agreed price, because the MY08 cars went up by about £300 or so.

Not heard about any issues with twin turbos.

I think people from the UK talk and write about 10,000x cooler than people from the US.

I'm sorry for your situation, but the way you wrote it had me laughing. I read it to myself in an English accent and was rolling on the floor. You guys should come over here, you'd clean up with the ladies.

Thanks for your comments Noize. We are actually considering charging entry to the UK forum, just to read the posts, because they are so unique. I agree, some of the threads are quite interesting - it took over 100 posts on one thread to actually explain to someone how check the oil using their dipstick.

I find that a drop of oil in the washing machine from time to time really softens the clothes and makes the machine run a lot smoother You never tried it?

You'll like this one

I once worked for a US company that had a lot of visiting employees from different countries from time to time. I recall, one time, a young man from England was a little upset about the lack of supplies in the canteen and made out a list and handed it to the attendant. As I was passing by, the girl showed me a list for Kitchen paper, cling film and some other items. She asked me to identify the items in "American" and (I'm not making this up) wanted to know what they called "tea" in England and was it on the list?

I suspect that's because we've been speaking English a lot longer, old boy - it takes practice!!

Yeah - I know where you are coming from.

I was promised a week 37 build (i.e. this week!) and a week 38 delivery - as of today that has slipped to a week 38 build and a week 41 (c*nts) delivery!!!! Maybe they will be able to pull it into September.

Teriffic.
