Bought a 08 335I convertible today
Well I have been looking for a M3 for almost a month now and today went by the dealer to look at the new M3 and 335I
He had a used 335I convertible there and I really liked how it look, I had already drove the new M3 he had there and could not justify the 80K price tag. So we got the keys for the 335I and we transformed it from a hardtop to a convertible in a few seconds, very cool. So we take the same roads that I drove on with a E46 M3 last week. Having know the sales guy for some time, he says "Ken lets go find a few on and off ram loops where you can throw her into a corner and test the cornering" So off we go, this is a sharp U ram with a incline going on to the interstate and I am doing the 30 mph speed limit, slam the auto into the manual mode, slap the paddle down a few gears and roll around the sharp curve around 75 mph, my buddy from work was with me and I swear he shait his pants. We let him drive it around on a loop too, he pussed out and was scared to push it. For those that say the 335I has a lag in the tubo's, it's slow, and does not handle, all I can say is go drive one Is it as fast as the new M3, no its not. Is is as fast as the E46 M3, thats a wash. I drive anywhere from 300-500 miles a week for work alone and another 50 miles back and forth to work each day and to be honest the rare Bettle Turbo S that is slammed and moded just beats me to death and the 6 speed kills me by the end of the day. I did not like the price tag on the used 07 335I vert at 47K, so I asked what can he get me. They had new 08 demo, black on black, with every option and with 19's Sticker was 62k... At the end of the day I walked out with if for mid 50's OTD with the the 100k warranty and maintenance at .9% after I slapped a big check down on them. I had all intentions of just driving the 335I, it being nothing great, out of the back of my mind, and flying down to FL and a red E46 vert Butt it was everything I needed and close to what I wanted. It's a hardtop and a vert, it looks good to my eye, its rides nice, handles great, and it's rocket fast. Right now I am still in shock that I wrote such a big check and have a new car at the house. What rims will fit on this new toy of mine, I like the deep dish look. |

Very nice, I like the 230 wheels. My 09 is coming with them as well. I assume they are fitted with BS RFTs, right?
