I thought you had photos of a very bent rim a while back and were off the road for a bit? Or was that someone else?

By searching through two years worth of posts...
Actually I was using search to try and find stuff on wheels and spotted that thread. If I don't use search, I'll get told off. |

I never had any problems with my '56' E92 335i if that helps at all. I think it's like most things, sometimes you get a good one, sometimes you get a bad one. It's nice to obviously have the latest software but not necessarily essential.

I don't believe the problem is that the wheels are weak, simply the poor combo of ultra low profile and RFT's (the e46 M3 for example had slightly higher profile tyres on the 19" alloys). Best thing you can is to replace the RFT's with non-RFT's and make sure the tyres are kept fully inflated. |

Casters are clearly visible in this picture. Doesn't it oversteer badly with these tyres? (I'm only joking, I couldn't really care less - I'm just bored waiting to go out for some grub and I'm feeding the troll) |

Because 225 rubber is perfectly sufficient and specced on all SE 335d tourings and saloons after thousands of hours of R&D. Of course to those who have never driven one and make assumptions based on marketing hype, it handles terribly... Lets look at the Evo 9 FQ360 and the rubber that had shall we? That handles pretty well... |

It goes off fine when I boot it.
The badge was on it when I bought it - thanks for that though. I'm sure passengers love your 19" MV3s when their teeth get rattled out of their sockets. I'm sure the doubling of tyre costs is well worth it too. And I'm sure rim size isn't inversely proportional to the size of ones "equipment" Oh no - wouldn't think that for a minute. Still slower than a 335d too - even if the 335d has moped tyres fitted... Last edited by Em135eye; 10-01-2009 at 03:18 AM.. |
