im in bayside so 5 minutes away from you....why dont you upgrade your ecu first though? i think its the biggest upgrade you can do to our car and you can move the maps as you install the bolt-ons?

and definitely goto matt@cambertoe for any installs he will take care of you

My theory was to get all the bolt on's out of the way first and then upgrade the ECU to put it all together... I've always built jap vehicles and that was the method I used prior to my bmw and it seemed to work so I guess I'm using the same philosophy... I wanted to address all the bolt on parts and cooling issues and then upgrade the ECU to I guess mash everything together... I've heard that the ECU makes sick gains but I also kind of wanted to feel the power of every single part I put on first...

You can do it this way if you want, but in my opinion you won't feel much gains from your mods without a tune FIRST.

BUT! the longer it takes u to finally buy a tune (I suggest u research them all and not just ask which is better etc. Because all that does is start a war), the more advanced tunes will be from today. Hell, COBB may have a stage II by the time your ready and that will = WIN!

Whatever you do just research, of course we are here to help as well, but we are not u, in the end it's your decision.

Good luck with the mods!

Yeah, I'm still deciding if I should take care of cooling issues first ( don't have oil cooler or upgraded FMIC) or just buy a tune, THEN get an intercooler....

I could probably afford a JB4+intercooler right now, but kind of want the sophistication of procede or Cobb, but then wouldn't be able to afford an intercooler for a while after that, and i dont wana overheat this summer......decisions, decisions.....

thank you so much... the funny part is, that was my next question because there are so many choices and I'm having a hard time deciding too in which ECU upgrade to get... but I guess I shouldn't ask... thanks so much once again for the inputs, been really helpful...

my overall mods list would consist of my exhaust system, down pipes, active autowerke bov w/ charge pipe, helix fmic, ecu upgrade and possibly a turbo upgrade, any other suggestions on power mods? thanks guys...

No problem. Your gonna want an OCC (Oil Catch Can) for that new FMIC. they aren't expensive, usually in the $200 range but WELL worth it. An oil cooler as well (sorry I forget if u mentioned whether or not u had a stock one already) and of course an intake

If your going the upgraded turbos route then meth is always nice to have

Nope lol. Mine has no oil cooler at all. I need to get the AR Oil Cooler retrofitted on AR Camber-Toe soon before it starts getting really warm.

Usually after a few hard pulls the oil temps at 250... It kinda sucks lol.

I hit 250 all the time and no limp mode. If I push it on a warm day I'll hit 265 and no limp mode....but I'm not tuned.

Were you tuned last summer?

Bobby - I meant I didn't have an upgraded FMIC. I have the stock one.

I had the JB+ and had limp mode a couple of times but I wasn't even driving the car when the light came on. I just turned it on after a cold start and the limp mode light comes on

Im the second owner. To be fair I've only hit limp mode twice. First time it was weird. I hit a big pothole and it went limp mode. Second time was really my fault lol. I was fucking with every ricer I found on the LIE as I was coming home.
