I recently posted a message in the main audio forum regarding a stereo modification, as i have just noticed this forum is mainly used by bmw owners in the states. Which might be the reason i have had no reply's Hopefully some of you fellow brits may take a look at my post and reply with any aprreciated advise. Regards Barry |

Hi everyone, just joined up after picking up my E90 118i M-Sport on Monday and the drinks are on me.
I have had many BMW's over the years, my last one before this one was a 116i M-sport on a 57 plate. I owned this for all of 8 weeks !!! Loved the car but there was no space in the rear for the kids and I was offered a deal too good to turn down against the E90. 3 years ago I had a new M3 coupe in grey, beautiful car but family expenses meant that I had to sell it. Like many others I would have liked something new but in the current econmic climate I am happy to have what I have just bought. It is a 1 owner car in Crimson Red on a 57 plate with 7000 miles. It has factory bluetooth (that I have eventually sussed out) and split folding rear seats along with all of the standard M-Sport features. I want to see if anyone does a 'chip' for the 2.0L 118i engine and I would like a painted M3 rear spoiler (UK, Taiwan, USA, any advice ?) I would also like to try and fit some 'Angel Eyes'. My other interst is bikes. I have just sold my 'blinged up' Ducati 1098S and bought a new 09 KTM RC8 in Red Bull colours, roll on spring and warmer weather (hopefully) I look forward to joining in the discussions and picking up some tips. |

Hi everyone, new Northern Ireland member
Hey all,
My wife and i just IMPULSE PURCHASED a lovely late 2005 320D SE Touring (163) in Manchester on Monday past, loving the BMW experience so far to be honest. The car has a few wee bumps and dings on it which i SHOULD have noticed but i had managed to get a stomach bug and was really unwell when viewing it and it was absolutely last minute, missed a few wee checks like that AND it was farking snowing The good lady drove it back to Birkenhead and we got the ferry home and i have been out of action until today but got it for a nice wee drive, a few things stood out. I had expected pretty superior economy to our Mini One that we traded in but so far i am seeing circa 37 mpg which is no better, could this indicate a problem as such? I noted only the slightest waft of white smoke on startup and very little soot when driven , even hard. I am also not noting the blistering performance i had expected but this could be my driving style that needs to adjust, after all, my other car is an 8K Civic nutbox lol.............again though, could this indicate something else? I had read stories about problems with turbos and MAF sensors (or somethign like that).........swirl flaps too.......is this all with this shape car? Sorry for all these questions.......i do have plans for the car regarding mapping and whatnot in the future but as i have a wee babby on the way in a couple of months, i am gonna hang low and just enjoy what i have. All advice appreciated team, looking forward to post more here. Regards Andy, Belfast |

hi all,
just purchased a e92 335d autovogue. ive come from a highly tuned evo so performance isn't as good but sooo much nicer to drive. nice to see double figures in the mpg!! im used to single! all round great car and im sure it will still surprise a few people with the performance. think it looks great, i know its not everyones cup of tea but i love it! been reading the site over the last few months while deciding on what car to get so went with the 335d. i was abit worried about it being an auto but im sure i will get used to it, also the torque is amazing but i just cant get grip, doesn't help coming from a 4wd i suppose. well looking forward to meeting some of you and chatting on the forum. love the rants over the 335d think its usually dxb that gets them going so keep up the good work and i look forward to joining in ive tried to attach pics but if it hasn't worked could some kind person please pm me instructions? cheers leon |

hi carlos,
think its called sparkling graphite. yes ive been reading on here for a while, think your abit of a legend on the e90 forum! it was probably some of your posts praising the 335d why i ended up with one and i love it! looking forward to trying out some 1/4 mile runs at pod as that 13.3 is amazing saying i couldn't get that in my e46 m3. dont think i will beat my 12.0 in the evo tho! will hopefully meet you there one time and you can give me some tips about the auto box as im still getting used to it. do you change gear about 4k rpm for peak change? think im running same power as you 350bhp and 710nm torque (think thats about 530ft/lb torque) had 25 cars in 8 years of driving and nothing below 190bhp (integra type r) up to the evo 9 or tvr i had running 420bhp so ive only ever had powerfull manual petrol cars. can't wait for the better weather so i can get some of them torques down on the road as im really struggling at the mo! cheers leon |

lad your enjoying the 335d, the power is so linear that sometimes it does not feel as fast as it really is. Other days it surges along really well.. The 335d pulls very hard to 5k, No power drop off at all like other Turbo diesels you may have driven, the big turbo is very well matched to the engine and does pull all the way hard. I generally rev it to 5k when spanking it. But anywhere between 4.5-4.8k will be where is makes big power. I wouldnt short shift at 4k though personally. What map do you have on your car? What did you manage with your E46 M3 down the pod mate? Tell me more about your Evo, sounds mental running a 12.0, what trap speed.. 118-120mph? 450bhp+ ? Bet your 60ft's were mental fast. Wewr holding a UK meet In cambridge on 7th and 8th march, a weekend Jobby which includes a trip to the Pod sunday, pls come down and say hello. I think we have quite a few newbies coming Cheers Carlos

i'll have to find a quiet road and have a play when the weather gets abit better, ive got one of them electronic plug in thingys that record 0-60 1/4mile 30-130 etc so can compare optimum gear change rpm. its quite a decent one not cheap crappy thing
think the best i got in the e46 was 13.5 and that had a ac schnitzer full exhaust and re-map the evo did a 12 dead with 1.7 60ft and i think it was 116 trap speed. will check my slip tho but pretty sure thats right. in the 6 months i had the car i had £6k worth of engine mods it was running 420bhp and 400lb/ft of torque. think the 30-130 run would be an interesting run between them with all the 335d's torque my 335d originally had a re-map by e-maps then a more aggressive map was put in by i think evolve but not 100% sure. also i don't have a dyno print out so im just going by what the stealer told me. think im going to stick it on the rolling road next week and see what it does cheers leon |

I believe all cd players these days will play MP3s. It would be archaic for a manufacturer to not design that into their machines anymore. As for the other two options I'll have to defer to other forum members.

Hi, Just bought my self a nice 06 320d SE leather trim and was wondering if you knew a decent brand of leather cleaner/treatment cream. I can imagine there are millions of replies to this question but its my first time on the forum and i would like to get amongst it |
