My New Toy

Had to sell my 911 turbo as needed the money for a deposit on a house, but bought this instead for £8,750.

76k on the clock, full specialist history and sat nav. Looked a bit ordinary at first...

But 3 days after purchase looks a whole lot better:

Really enjoying driving it about - far more than i thought i would! Maybe I'm not so scared that every squeak will be another £1k needed.

That is cheap I have to say. It's amazing how much better the car looks with just a simple wheel change.
Not long ago I looked at caymans but I ended up getting a E91 335i instead.

It really is!!

Its a little underpowered (3.2 was £4k more roughly!!) but around town etc its great!

Really nice having a convertible - i can see the attraction now having never owned one (or wanted one) before.

to be honest I think the original wheels are ridiculously too small, nice car though

I didn't realise these were so cheap, had a couple of E46 M3's for around the same money

Looks nice.

I was debating one a year or so ago.

I think that because of the potential engine issues, the prices on them have bummed, which is why you can pick them up so cheap.

My first thought looking at this was "those wheels would need changing"...

Then I scrolled to see the next pictures and you've fitted the exact ones that initially came to my head!

Lovely looking motor

The wheels freshen the car up a lot and take years off it.

The 2.7 is a much safer engine option from what I've read - the 3.2 has a few issues, which affects about 5% of cars from what I've read up on.

2.7 is quick enough - coming from a 450bhp twin turbo 996 - everything feels slow!

Depends what you read and where I suppose. Porsche handle it the same way BMW handled the Nikasil issue back in the mid-90's. A mate of mine works at Porsche, so it's always enlightening.

They are (as with most Porsches I've driven) a real hoot to drive. Looks way better on the new wheels too.
