Its about that just for the hood, bumper, mirrors, headlights, and fogs.

Well I know the materials wouldn't cost more than $500 so maybe I could find someone else.

Yeah just noticed that. Have no idea why considering this is more a general question than a Wash/Wax question.

The film is very expensive. You could always make it a DIY, right?

I think the problem with installing a full car clear bra, is that even though the material is tough to penetrate, it is soft and therefore easy to scratch. And until someone comes up with a guaranteed cleaning regime to remove (and not just fill) swirl marks on a clear bra, I don't think you guys are gonna be happy with the state of your car within a few months.
There's also the problem of was/polish lines along the edges of your clearbra, because you can't wrap the clearbra material around a edge like a door frame.

I think you are rather high in estimate. Here is what the bulk film would cost you. What cost you is the custom installation.

It's been done several times before. 2 on a CGT and 1 on a Ferrari. I'm sure there is more. It's not cheap ofcourse. My installer has done full cars.

And he told me if my film ever gets scratched, like swirls. Take your isopropal alcohol or w/e it's called and put it in a spray bottle and spray down the whole bra. Then wait for it to dry. When it is all dry, go over w/ a MF towel. This technique works great for me.

i tried to do this but it would cost me over $5000...the guy just did one for a ferrari and they charged him 5500. I got mine custom made and fitted on in most vulnerable places..that's teh best i could do i guess...

Hey guys just read through this thread. I have the whole front of my car done and half way up the hood. I'd just like to say that you cant not wax the car if it was entirely covered with the clear bra unless your using shi*ty film. If your using top notch film you are suppose to treat it like your clear coat paint. It would still need zaino (z2,z5,z8) So all in all its not worth it. You cant just windex the car if it had the bra you would leave scratches. It would look like crap. This is just my opinion and im a nut when it comes to detailing cars. A little to overboard but I hate driving a dirty car

Hey Guys.

Clear Bra the entire car is possible and is actually performed a lot. In most cases it is on very high-end cars, for example Ferrari Enzos and Porsche GTs. The cost of this is approx 10-15k.

I recommend only doing the front end, (hood, fenders, mirrors, bumper, and headlights), with the occasional rocker panel coverage and perhaps the rear bumper. The hood can either cover 12", 18", 24" or the entire hood which can be done for extra money.

For people out there looking for a clear bra installed please keep in mind the installer really makes or breaks the looks of the clear bra once applied. If the film is not stretched properly etc, this can leave imperfections in the film which show up visible on darker colors.

There are also tons of different films out there for example, 3M, Avery, Clearshield, Venture, LLumar. In most cases 3M is going to be your best every day driver film. If you have a garage queen then perhaps an Avery or Venture Non-top coat film.

For example of near perfect installs and what the end product should look like go to my site www.autopaintguard.com and look under the Gallery.

Thanks for your time!

Ryan

well, if anyone is that compulsive about their car's finish or image, might as well not buy the car. What good is the car if you just want it to sit there and look pretty? My e90 is my work car, my semi long trip travel car, and my home depot hauler car. You cannot protect it 24/7. I betcha even with the protective film, I can still do damage to your car's surface.
