Seattle Area Shops

I just got a quote from Strictly BMW for downpipe, exhaust, CAI, and BOV install and they said it would be $1600.

Does that sound about right or should it be around 600-800?

extreme autocenter will do your downpipes for like $150? $1600 seems kind of a rip off... The only thing that would be kind of hard to do is downpipes, exhaust is just weld off weld on.. and as for the CAI and BOV... well those are a weekend DIY

They said it was 8 hours to swap the dp's

I know the CAI and BOV are weekend DIY's i just wanted some paperwork to go along with the work.

Holy Rapage!

I had the XI and that was the most complicated DP install.. you shouldn't pay more than $250-400 for DPs. Exhaust (if it is bolt on) should be no more than $100-200. CAI and BOV are DIY jobs (enuf acronyms for ya??), I wouldn't waste the money having a shop do em, but if you do - don't have them charge you more than 1hr worth of work.

So max 800bucks maybe.. $1600 is taking it right up the pooper-scooper.

LOL WHAT??? Dude, don't even bother with them.. downpipes take like a couple hours at max... I think it took them like 45 minutes to get mine done.. or maybe it could have been like an hour and a half... either way, 8 hours is obscured...

They've done 135i downpipes before so I think that is a good quote.

Go lower For non-AWD cars.. it should be a 3-4hr job. @ $80 to $90 bucks an hour, you should have a good idea that any more than 400bones to install DPs is too much.
