Most people that buy these cars will never turn it into a "drift car". Lack of LSD is already one major downfall. But another is the weight.

+1. Not to mention that the majority of people don't buy a $40,000 car to use for drifting. Even if they have the money for it, there are other cars with better chassis out there.

If you go see the real drift cars in the streets, and not the ones you see in the media...they're all pretty much plain and boring looking with scratches and dings. Most of the drift cars you see are relatively cheap cars...unless it's heavily sponsored or used as a project car from a shop.

LOL soo true. Most street driven "drift cars" are all extremely banged up. Its not easy learning to take your car sideways through turns without getting into some accidents haha.

Apparenlty some of you guys miss read the question. I didnt ask are E92's the best drift cars. I asked, if anyone here has moded their e92 for drifting? and yea hommie, i know e92 didnt come with LSD so i also asked what kind of LSD you drifters out there are packing?

And other than $$$ factors, for those of you who say 3-series make bad drift cars dont know ya facts. they dont get a alot of face time in D1 drift and all that, but in europe, they're considered one of the best.

out-

You asked if anyone turned there E9X into drift cars, we said no and gave you a reason why...what more do you want?

Oh and most are using Quaife lsd. But for post march production cars, your differential is welded so you will have an extremely hard to installing the LSD.

with an LSD its possible

my friends with e46 and e36 M3's do it all the time... its actually pretty easy in bmw cars with a 50:50 balance and a good torque curve with lsd. it eats your tires up though so i only do it when it rains/snows.

drift on man

i don't know about the E92 but 350z has never been a good drift car. the japanese drift king once comment that the 350z is not very suitable for drifting because of the weight + the engine type being N/A.

from my opinion, a drift car should have two basic requirements, non-N/A + a light car.
