Here is a side by side of the JB4 and PRO board. With the PRO components have gotten a lot smaller since the interceptor was designed 10 years ago. Now everything has built in USB, etc.

I think it's honorable that the tuners openly admit their costs.

Where do you get your info from Mike. The Procede was not designed 10 years ago, and which components have gotten smaller? The Procede uses a larger processor because we used more pins, because we do more. Much of it is not visable in actual features, but has to do with the Procede having adjustable noise filters for inputs and adjustable output levels that the end user never sees, but enables us to do N54 and N55 and other applications from a single hardware platform. USB is still not included in most processors that are suitable for this sort of things, and when you eventually show your cards on the PRO, we will see a USB to UART converter which is the same as is used on the USB adapter cables as most people use with Procede. The Procede does not look like it has more components because the JB PRO has smaller components... it is because it has ALOT more components!! This is what happens when you design real signal conditioning with appropriate adjustable filters and protection. Maybe it is not required, but given the amount of hardware revisions we have compared to you while we support multiple applications, we must be doing something right!! For the record, the only hardware revision we have had was a repackage to reduce cost and go to a larger connector so we could externalise features we could not access with the previous connector.

Shiv, we should offer for BMS to make our units. They reckon it is under $100... so if they make it and we pay them $120 they can make a tidy profit!! It is not like we are not already getting our boards manufactured in China which is the cheapest place in the world for them!!

This should get ineresting...

My point of view: Don't care how they look or how much they cost to make, just care what they do to my car

Are the board brand markings blacked out so we can't see "Haltech" stamped on it?

The JB3 in this pic is made up of 3 resistors , 5 capacitors an IC chip and a transistor. IC chip can only output different votage which i assume are based on the different maps, so all it looks like it can do is up or down the boost... looks really old, like late 70's tech. the procede has a crazy 50-60 lead flat pack IC. plus like 5 other IC chips and tons of micro resistors and Caps.

also i can fix all of these circuit cards, if you guys ever get any that are broken or have blown components. Im certified with the navy to do micro-miniature repair. IE a bullet goes through a circuit card, i can fix it like it never happened.

Do alpha and beta testers get anything for the logging etc (development) they do? Surely this is a very significant part of development...

True but a trained eye can tell, just by appearances, what a product isn't capable of doing. Contrary to deceitful/misleading claims.

Oh man.... I say BMS and Vishnu should send me there latest and greatest. I will run each for say 90 days and tell everyone which one I think is best and why. All I ask is that I get to keep them and that both companies continue to do this as long as they are in business. I promise to give an honest review.... We can settle this once and for all....

I promise to turn down all bribes, unless they are performance parts for my car, in order to be certain get an honest/ unbiased veiw.

Lets do this for anyone that subscribes to this thread and we can get a good chunk of data to analyze....

who's willing to help these guys out??

Isn't that overly complex with too many points of failure?

i repair electronics .. capasitors transistors diods fuses...etc.. cost pennies if you buy in quantity.... i don't know who accually manufactures the chips but its EXTREMELY inexpensive to make them... the R&D is all the money

think of it like software... millions to make it .. pennies to copy it to a dvd or cd

yeah ive been to depot's that have millions of resistors and ic chips in aisles and aisles. those micro resisters look like sprinkles for ice cream.

I don't get it? So it wouldn't be as funny if that was a Procede board? Somebody fill me in
