How to remove lower centre grille?

I have a 2011 E92 328i without m-sport. I am trying to remove the center grille but I can't seem to figure it out. I have tried pushing the grille in and pulling it out with quite a bit of force but it doesn't budge (I stopped because it felt like it was going to break). I would really appreciate if someone could help me with this.

I believe you just push it in. even if you get it unclipped though I think to get it out of there you have to unbolt the splash sheild below. Plus I think there are a few vertical bars about an inch or so behind it so make sure they are getting in your way.

It's easiest to remove the whole bumper. It is just held in by clips but they are hard to see and unclip unless the bumper is off.

Jskin, I was trying to push it in, but it doesn't even unclip. And is the splash shield the bottom part of the bumper?

I think I will try to remove the bumper if it is not too hard. Do I just have to remove the screws on the bottom of the car and the four bolts under the hood? (I also have headlight washers and parking sensors.)
