Can't see any tests for the E92 or the E93 on the Euro NCAP site, just the E90:

As I have an e93 I just read the test results to see if they are as bad as people are suggesting.

In short the e93 results for head on collisions were about the same as the e90 so good news on that front. It was the side impact that was worse.

Since the e92 has much the same door design as the e93 I would suspect that any e92 tests would show similar results. On that basis one could conclude that in an accident of this kind the e92 would suffer a similar outcome in terms of damage and of course injuries etc.

On the other hand because of the additional rigidity built into the e93 sills and floorpan the e92 could suffer a worse outcome to the e93.

Although the frameless doors are similar (maybe even the same) the e92 does benefit from a full height "B" pillar which will offer increased protection in a side impact.

yes but the e93 has no roof so has less structural rigidity than the e92

Um, I don't think the e92 has a "b" piller either so in fact there is no more protection than the e93. In the test pictures having a roof wouldn't have helped either as the damage was all around the middle and the top of the door and rear panel.

So if you think these tests were a concern on the e93 you would be foolish not to have the same concerns if you have an e92.
