Bad mulf-2-high

I'm dealing with a bad mulf2 high basis, is it worth even messing with this thing? I tried a used module, it took the program/code but quickly started cutting out just like the original. I attempted to reflow one of them but was unsuccessful.

Car has USB & aux in, bluetooth phone only, CCC nav, with the mulf2 issues the radio cuts out, I unhooked it and now I have radio but no usb/aux/handsfree.

Do the aftermarket head units need a working mulf2? CCC is garbage and I never used anything other than the aux input, I am leaning towards removing the CCC/nav and just throwing in a android replacement.

Aftermarket Head unit's do not play with any of the BMW modules.
But they generally have all the features and more of the BMW head
unit modules.
However it's not easy to install these and there are side effects depending
on which BMW sound system you have . The sound system is the speakers
and amp if you have on not the head unit.

How do you know it's the module do all your other head unit functions work.

Next to impossible to throw and aftermarket head unit in a BMW with factory
Nav/idrive. You might try to upgrade it to an NBT.
Why because all aftermarket Nav's are double din and don't have screens
for the Hump in the middle of the dash. Also all the other idrive functions are
not compatible with aftermarket head units.

it's actually a 135i with the flip up display that's acting up, I was on the wrong sub forum when I posted, there are android units that are supposed to work

Pretty easy to narrow down the mulf2, bluetooth stopped showing up then a couple months later the audio started to cut out. Disconnecting it and only the mulf2 but leaving the rest on resolves it but that takes out usb/aux/bluetooth when it's unhooked. When I hook it up ista-d & ista-p both throw an error talking to it. I swapped in another known good unit from my kids 128i and everything works.

knowing how these CCC are, chances are high if I fix the mulf2 the CCC will die next

vin is VF22157 the car has the following

S609A Navigation System Professional
S639A Preparation F Mobile Phone Cpl USACDN
S655A Satellite Tuner
S676A HiFi Speaker System
S694A Provisions For BMW 6 CD Changer
S6FLA USBAUDIOSCHNITTSTELLE
S6UHA TRAFFIC INFORMATION
S645A BMW US Radio

Gorilla Tape is way better than Duck tape.
No way to relate this to the e9x with the hump in the center
for the display and the electronic's in a seperate module below.
What year is it. If it is f series your on the wrong forum.

Your not getting water leakage not that area are you ?
In which case a new one only lasts till the next rain.

I think the issues are cross platform, this is a on a 135i e82. No water leakage ever, I reflowed one of my two bad mulf2 modules but it did not help at all, it probably needs to be re-balled.

I think the only difference is the display, the put the same trunk modules in everything from mini's to 550i series
